This boat has always been stored inside and seldom used for the past 30 years. The motor is a 1959 Mark 35A Mercury and has been well maintained. All rubber parts in fuel system were replaced to accept modern fuels.

Antique

boat is made from a kit manufactured by Taft Marine in Minneapolis in 1958 and assembled by owner.

It is 14 feet long with a plywood hull covered with fiberglass.The decking is mahogany plywood

stained and finished with urethane spar varnish. Boat was recently repainted

inside and out. This boat has always been stored inside and seldom used for the

past 30 years. The motor is a 1959 Mark 35A Mercury and has been well

maintained. All rubber parts in fuel system were replaced to accept modern

fuels. There is a speedometer on the dash and a canvas cover. An anchor and

life jackets will be provided. License is good through 2014.

Did you sell you boat? I worked at Taft Marine Woodcraft that was located in Columbia Heights, MN. This was my first "real job" after graduating from high school in 1964. At that time Taft was only selling sailboat kits. His brother Warren had opened a fiberglass canoe plant in Annandale, MN. It was sad to see this era wither away as Larson, Alumacraft, and other big-time players entered the market.

I just found your message. . . I probably talked to you in the office when I was a kid asking for the latest catalog. By the time I worked there, in the shop, I am pretty sure it was only Bob who was upfront in the office. I think I worked there in 1964 and 1965 time periods.
