This Stephens is a great value. Please read the entire listing to appreciate it all.
This vessel is built from mahogany (frames, beams and planking) with teak decks. The ITALIA was built August 24, 1966 for C. Nabb Drennen and originally named Five Fins, later renamed Sea Hawk. The hull number M-132 is originally listed from the Stephens Bros. shipyard at 57 feet (at the waterline). The Coast Guard registration number is 504802.
The last survey was completed in 2009 and the last haul-out was May 2011. During the haul-out the bottom was well painted with anti-fouling bottom paint and above water painted with marine grade hull paint. New zincs and two new bronze props were installed.
Two 8V71 Detroit Diesels, 350 horsepower engines, power the Italia. Both engines are running and clean with 6500 hours. Eight new eight volt batteries for the 32 volt system were installed February this year.
There are three main cabins. An upper Salon outfitted with a wet bar, refrigerator and icemaker, a lower carpeted salon and a full galley. The galley is equipped with electric range and oven, under counter refrigerator and separate under counter freezer. A convection/microwave is included.
In addition to the main cabins there are two staterooms. The master stateroom has a queen size bed with two large lockers for hanging clothes and other storage. The second stateroom has twin beds, a drawer unit and locker for hanging clothes. There are two heads, one on the lower level forward of the galley and one off the master stateroom with a shower and an Incinolet toilet. There are also two additional rooms, one equipped with a washer dryer combination and the second with a Jacuzzi tub and separate hot water tank.
The Wheelhouse is equipped with a cushioned wood bench with storage and chart drawers. The 32volt and 120volt electrical panel is mounted adjacent to the steering wheel. There is a separate 12volt panel for the ship to shore radio and depth sounder.
Several additional unique extras include a wood burning stove, a pellet stove and a workshop. This description could go on although its best that all serious buyers make an appointment to be welcomed aboard.
The Brightwork (wood rails) and windshield have been stripped and new varnish applied.
All furnishings shown in the photos will stay with the boat.
There is one issue that needs to be discussed
During 2013 our diver convinced us that he could replace a scarred shaft underwater. He managed to remove the prop, open the shaft coupling and begin to separate the shaft. After several weeks he confessed he could not complete the replacement.
THIS REPLACEMENT COULD BEST BE COMPLETED DURING A REGULAR HAUL-OUT TO PAINT THE BOTTOM. AT THAT TIME WE WILL PAY $3,000.00 FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE OLD SHAFT AND FOR A NEW SHAFT TO BE FABRICATED AND INSTALLED WITH THE PROP.
This vessel is Coast Guard Registered. Transfer of the Certificate of Documentation will be the responsibility of the buyer.
THE FINAL SELLING PRICE FOR THIS CUSTOM 1966, 60 STEPHENS IS REDUCED TO $82,000 OR AN HONEST OFFER FOR CONSIDERATION
