We are selling our 1940 Staudacher Hacker Craft that has been in our family for thirty years. It is a double cockpit runabout that has been restored twice during the time our family has owned it once in the 80's and the last time being in 2009-10 by Bill Banister of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. At that time, the boat was taken down to bare wood with every issue found addressed; it has a new engine, electronics, gas tanks, upholstery, chrome, Bimini top, hydraulic engine hatch lift...you name it, even the Shoreland'r trailer was redone. In her last restoration alone we have over $125,000 worth of work done on the boat; we have receipts and pictures of that process. The boat has won numerous awards: OoRAH is the very first name on the Miss America IX Perpetual Trophycreated by Charles & Diane Mistelefor the Charlotte - Lake Norman Show when she was awarded Best in Show 2011, what an honor for the boat and for us. Other awards are Youth Judging at the Sunnyland Show in Tavares, Best Runabout Hartwell Show in Georgia, People's Choice Bluegrass Show in Kentucky. OoRAH was also invited to theConcoursed'Elegance event on Hilton Head Island.
She is a sweet, sexy, well running, artful masterpiece with the most beautiful lines as she comes off the flare of the front and tapers to the rear and into that big barrelback. The decision to let her go has been a difficult one, never have we enjoyed such times as those spent on the water with friends and their boats that we made while in the antique boating world but...it is time for her to go to a new family to someone that will love her as much as we did.Things that we were going to do to her that still need to be done...it is time to have her re-varnished and her bottom re-painted, strictly cosmetic. Please contact us if you have questions regarding the boat, we'll be happy to answer them for you.Thank you for looking.
