Splendor 240 PlatinumWell, Granpa retired a couple of years ago, and has decided to sell his pride and joy.He decided to down size to a Yamaha Waverunner; oh well, lfe goes on.Seating for up to 12 people Smooth, stable and efficient full-planing, tunnel hull catamaranEnjoy being in the water or speeding across it with plenty of power for waterskiing, wakeboarding and tubing.Top speed 60-70mph depending on water surface.NEVER in salt waterThe hull design allows this boat to compact air as it travels down the inside of the tunnels. This design helps push up on the hull at takeoff, thus forcing the craft up on plane very quicklywith minimal bow rise. Not only does the craft perform well, but it gives a feeling of power when are at its command. The catamaran hull allows cutting through rough water, and turns are tight and smooth with very little power loss. It also gets through some very shallow water.Length 23'9"Beam 8'4"Hull Draft 12"Displacement 3,700 lbsCapacity 12 peopleFuel Capacity 54 gal.Power 496 MAG MerCruiser (less than 70hrs, see pics)What Boating Life said about the Splendor 240 Platinum:When someone builds a product by hand, you can tell. It has the builders fingerprints all over, and you find some original characteristics. Thats true of the Splendor 240 Platinum, which has a deckboat hull with a bowrider configuration. Its a hybrid on the surface, carefree fun at the wheel. The hull in an interesting piece of work. Its a stable, fullplaning catamaran design that we found to love one-foot chop. We took it into a whitecapping lake, and while the hull sliced waves, the tunnel softened the ride. Oh yeah, and it was quick to plane. Easy to clean and rigged with stainless steel, the boat is salt-friendly. Splendor prides itself on flexibility, custom rigging all its boats. The driver may have it best, on a seat that can be height-adjusted, then rides atop an air cylinder shock absorber. Beneath each of two front bench seats, 87-inchlong storage lockers easily accommodate fishing rods and skis. The head, placed within the passenger console, is roomy. The portable head is standard, but the space is plumbed to accept a permanent unit. The head has both a side door and a top hatch, plus a light and a porthole. Wall-mounted near the driver is an entertainment center which opens to expose an AM/FM radio with cassetteor CD; theres also a space (and a power outlet) for a 9-inch television or TV/ VCR combination. One docks this boat with the notion that this is what boating is supposed to be; simple, fast and fun! -- S.G
