Sorry, I had previously listed it with the wrong year of manufacture. Correct year is 1978 Reserve is less than $5000. I know this is a bit long-winded but I like to give a thorough description of items I sell. I picked this up to fix & resell. This would be a great Camping/Fishing/Cruising boat. Here is what I know about this boat. The person I got it from had bought it at an estate sale. He told me he talked to the relatives of the man who was restoring it before he died. He had a new motor put in it but had not hooked it up. The outdrive had been rebuilt but not installed. The boat looked to have very little use so he and his dad bought it as a project fishing boat. They installed the outdrive with a new gimble bearing and bellows. Put in 2 new heavy duty 12v batteries. Had a custom full canvas enclosure made for it, probably cost a couple thousand just for that. New upholstery on all the interior & exterior cushions. They did a lot of work on this boat and spared no expense as they planned on keeping it. Then his dad got sick and will not recover enough to continue with the project. The gentleman I got it from has 3 teenage boys and he said the last thing they want to do is spend weekends fishing with dad and it is too big a boat for just one person. It had sat for a couple years when I got it. The hull is in great shape and has no marks on it, no evidence of any
repairs. The transom, deck and stringers are sound, no evidence of any
rot. I am a retired auto/boat mechanic and I pick up things to fix & resell when I run across something nice. I am not happy unless I'm working on something. Unfortunately there were no receipts or paperwork to prove what work had been done so I pulled a valve cover off & ran a compression test after starting the motor. It did fire right up. No unusual sounds or smoke. The motor looks new inside, compression is even on all cylinders @ 140lbs and I believe it is new. Nobody is going to put that much time & money into a boat and skimp on the motor. All the gauges work with the exception of the speedometer. The hydraulic lift works up & down, a bit slow with age, but it does function. It would not go into reverse and when I turned the prop it made that famous dreadful clicking sound. So after checking the adjustments on the shifting cables & linkage & expecting the worst I pulled the outdrive off & took it apart. All the gaskets, seals & bearings looked new. The gimble bearing was new as he said. The gears and shafts were either new or in very good condition. The water pump impeller & housing was new. I found no problems in the outdrive so I checked the shift rod where it comes through the transom and found the problem. When they put the outdrive back on, the lever had jumped out of the notch in the shift bar. I put it back where it belonged, reinstalled the outdrive, filled it with new lube and to my joy now works fine. I took it out to one of our local lakes this weekend for a test run. We made it about a mile before it died and would not restart. It was not getting any fuel. I had put 25 gallons of premium before heading out so determined the electric fuel pump was not working. We got towed back to the marina and I ran to the local parts store. I replaced the pump, fuel filter and water separator filter, adjusted the carburetor, timing & points gap and it ran all weekend with no problems. Good oil pressure, ran at a temperature of 160 degrees at 1/2 throttle, 180 at full throttle. No leaks, didn't take on any water. This boat is ready to drop in the water & go. Registration is good through 12/2015 but the stick-on tags are missing so you will need to get replacements when you transfer title. Clear title for boat in hand, BOS for trailer. Trailer has permanent registration. Comes with a couple fenders and misc life jackets, silverware, pots, pans, anchor, etc. In the pictures of the canvas enclosure I didn't fasten it all the way. I just put it up for the pics then took it down. Didn't want to leave it up in the sun. Comes with almost a full tank of gas, not sure about capacity, guessing about 80gal. Has 2 fresh water tanks, 1 is about 50gal, not sure of the other. I put in a new 12v RV fresh water pump to get water to the sinks. Also has power steering. Has a hook up for shore power. That is about all I can think of. Let me know if you have any questions or would like to see the boat. Thanks for looking. Some of the features of this boat:
