26' Overall, SEAWAY SURF RESCUE, TOW, FISHING, DIVE BOAT.
This is a killer custom-made surf rescue, commercial towboat, dive boat or fishing boat. It was made by Seaway for the LA lifeguards to military specifications. It was retired was refit for towing for a Southern California Vessel Assist firm and then bought by my central California firm and customized as my personal rescue boat. This boat was designed to operate in the breaking surf. I can attest to this as I have operated it in a breaking harbor entrance with ease. (I do not recommend trying this at home I have 35years experience you most likely don't!) But yes it will operate in a small craft advisory with ease and bring you back safe. You guest might need new pants though.
It is loaded with electronics from the top of the line auto pilot, Bennet trim tabs to redundant VHF radios to a two axle trailer, to fuel injection. If you bought this items used on classifieds board they would add up to more then the price I am asking for the boat. This is a great deal even if you stripped the boat and put the parts on another boat. I am a 100 ton master and outfitted this boat for myself but after 35 years on the water I just don't have the interest anymore. So if you are into the water and want a solid boat for what ever or if you are in the boat rescue business and need a boat that is ready to go look no farther.
It is a west system glass wood composite hull. This is a workboat made with epoxy, fiberglass and timber, which means it is lighter and stronger than just plain fiberglass. Some people would advise you not to look at a glass over wood boat. In most cases I would agree but not this boat. It is a solid hull with no issues after 30 years that convinced me other wise. Thisis a commercial built boat not a recreational built boat. The hull was completely gone over and the wiring upgraded about 4 years ago. The paint alone was $550.00 a-gal high-grade auto paint and still looks great.
It is dirty and dusty and needs a good cleaning. I run the engine every six months and it starts on command. It needs new batteries. The bilge pumps fire up on command, as do the electronics and lights.
This boat is in storage and is being sold as is where is.

Engine:
Volvo 225HP gas throttle-body fuel injected. (My mechanic (pardon the French) says it runs like a rapped ape) Fires up and purrs like a Cheetah. I would recommend servicing the engine including a fresh raw water impeller. Does about 29 knots flat out in calm water. Dual prop it and hang on.
Volvo IO drive (The Safety release is wired down due to the HP of the engine. Can't put it into reverse or the drive would pop up - love that HP)
Hydraulic gear lift for transport lifts up and down with the hydraulic system. (Engine running)
