You are viewing a rare classic 14' Sears runabout boat, The boat is truly a unrestored time capsule I purchased the boat from the family of the original owner after his passing. The story told to me by his daughter was that he was in the U.S. Coast Guard, kept the boat inimmaculate condition, and only used itapproximately 10 to 12 times between the time he purchased it new in 1966 through 1977. The next 35+ years the boat would remain covered in his garage, with him occasionally dusting it off or just looking at it. The boat has the original gel coat, red and white and looks close to as new, along with the original upholstery. It also has all of the original hardware including all original chrome plating, steering wheel, speedometer, cables, lights, gas tank and even the transom tie downs. The daughter mentioned that he upgraded the motor from a 45hp to a 55hp in 1973 so that his kids would be able to water ski behind the boat. The motor is as original, starts on first turn and runs smoothly. The only item I replaced on the boat was the carpet, which I matched as close as possible to the original. The trailer was in beautiful condition, but I decided that it deserved a fresh coat of paint to match the near perfect boat, along with rewiring the lights for safety. I have enjoyed this spectacular boat in my collection but need to make room for a couple of other projects I am working on. The new owner will not be disappointed when seeing this treasure and will enjoy the the thumps up and attention the boat gets wherever it goes. Good luck bidding and feel free to ask me any questions you may have. Thanks for viewing.
