I am selling this cool old boat, and outboard motor, and trailer, because I am devoting my time to a Chris Craft project. These are collectible boats that are really quite easy to work on, if you have much DIY skill at all. The wood in the transom will have to be replaced, as well as some minor fiberglass work and painting. The interior has already been gutted. Replacing the upholstery is a breeze due to the fiberglass seat frames that are made for simple flat plywood cushions. As far as condition, the photos pretty much tell the story.
As far as the engine, it is a 140 hp Mercury/Kiekhaefer model 1400. It also is a project, that should probably be gone through. It is missing the lower unit, and needs a new wiring harness. On the bright side, though, it has compression, and turns over by rotating the flywheel, so internally it is probably fine. Please note the photos illustrating the different degrees of rotation of the flywheel. The boat and outboard have clear Missouri titles. The trailer appears to be home built, and is not registered or titled. It really is not road ready. I would suggest moving it with a flatbed truck or trailer.
These are beautiful and fast on the water when restored. They have an interesting history, and were the preferred boat of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans; Hollywood's favorite cowboy movie couple.
