Beautifully restored 1940 Owens 15' wooden boat with original Philippine mahogany.During restoration the boat was stripped down to bare wood, filled, sanded and stained with 12 coats of premium marine boat finish, giving it a gorgeous mirror shine. The upholstery has all been professionally recovered back to the original Owens design and is accented by the original brass hardware and Owens emblems. The original steering wheel will take you back to a time when Sinatra sang live and Casablanca could be seen for a quarter.This vintage gem sits on its original Gator trailer which has its own prestige and place in boating history.The motor is a restored 1958 Mercury Mark 58 A. It was bead blasted all the way down to aluminum, factory mercury zine oxide primer was used then the mercury original red paint was applied. The motor has not been broken open and the original crank case seal is still intact with 160 PSI compression on all 4 cylinders. The original Kiekhaefer controls are in the boat and match the motor. The motor has an electric and pull start and runs heavenly.It's been said that the Owens brothers only made 20 of these boats, making this elegant and nuanced vessel exceptionally special.Delivery or shipping can be discussed at buyer's expense.
