North American Boat Company Ambassador

This is a 1957 North American Boat Company top of the line Ambassador (Serial #: OB 160) 15' 7" length, 69" beam Mahogany Plywood boat. It had their maximum horsepower rating for that year at 75. This boat is powered by an original 1957 Mercury Mark 75 (Serial#: S1098349). I am the second owner and have the ownership history from a family in Akron, OH. It was used by the family over many years for day trips and water skiing. This boat was always stored inside and I purchased it in 2005. This is a direct driveforward and reverse 6 cylinder, the first year of Mercury's big motors. In 2007-2008 I had the motor professionally rebuilt and rewired where needed, keeping it original. I restored the boat myself in 2011-2012 and have many photos which I will be happy to share. The motor had already been removed and all hardware was removed and re-chromed. The upholstery was in very good condition for 1957 so I chose to clean it as best as possible and leave it original. I have the original Mercury Mark 75 owner's manual as well as other pamphlets and manuals that came with the motor. As this boat was used for day trips, the original owner purchased a Mercury Quicksilver Cruiser Tank. I am not sure of the capacity but it is much more than the typical 5 or 6 gallon tank. I have never seen one of these before so I wold bet it is unusual. I have runonlyethanol free fuel through the engine.The boat comes with the original 1957 TeeNee Tralier. The trailer is in good condition but could be restored if the new owner cares to do that. The tires and bearings have been replaced and maintained.
