1973 Grand Banks Classic.GB-36
FIBERGLASS DECK and HULL. No teak decs. Structurally sound trawler in good shape.
The design, hull, and machinery are her strongest points. Her counterparts with wooden hulls advertised for $65+K and she has fiberglass hull and deck. Check Yachtworld.com for Grand Banks 36. Most of them have single diesel,no generators, andteak decks and priced well above $85,000. This one has best of all worlds.
TWIN DIESELtrawler, a rare find on those models. BothFord Lehmanmarine 120HP diesels run well. One has 2569 hrs, another 3172 hrs. Please see video of engines running. Twin engines give you good maneuverability and safety on the water.
Excellent looper or a liveaboard.

She needs the bottom cleaned.Teak on the outside is weathered and varnish is peeling. The fiberglass deck has no leaks, but a few tired spots, simply because of its age. One fuel filter seal may need replacement as it drips sometimes. Hatch in the cockpit has one hinge that needs re-bedding. Centerline day tank, that was feeding the generator, developed a leak from the nearest shaft saltwater spray and was emptied and the line closed. Genset feed was rerouted to one if the main fuel tanks. Both tanks are half full. The boat is clean, but not detailed and at her best with every detail. Please expect some work to be performed and improvements made to make her even more beautiful.
I have many more pictures of every part of the boat, and if you have any specific area of interest, please call me and I will send you what I have.
All GB-36 specs can be easily found on the internet. If you are a boater, you probably know how good, reliable, and economical Ford Lehman diesels are. Made in UK.
I will help you with fuel consumption questions:
@7 knots 2 gal each (4 gal/hr)
@9-10 knots 2.5 - 3 gal each, giving a sea condition (6 gal/hr)
if you really want to save on fuel, run only one engine, adjust your rudders, and burn 2.5 gal/hr at 5 knots, but you will get to your destination slower.
I have a knowledgeable boater friend in the area that can show you the boat and let you onboard. I live outside of TX and cannot show her in-person. I owned her since summer 2021. She is a USCG Documented vessel and will be transferred as such through a notarized USCG bill of sale by any marine titling agency anywhere in the continental US.
The payment is due in 5 days only by direct banking. No paypals, checks, MOs, or other funny business. I can arrange viewing by calling the marina and giving your name and they will grant you access to the docks. DURING AUCTION TIME ONLY.
This auction is not subject to anything, such as: financing, survey, wife/husband/family approval, sea trial, viewing, etc. You won this auction - you bought her.
You are bidding on the trawler with average market price of $80,000
