26 foot navy motor whale boat with a Westerbeke Perkins 4-107 diesel engine, built by Miami Yacht for the Navy and completed in February 1967 hull # 26MW6652. assigned to a minesweeper Agile MSO 421 January 1968. Minesweeper Agile was decommissioned 28 January 1972 and the whale boat was removed from the ship and the engine was serviced for storage and moth balled at the Charleston Ship Yard until 1986 was purchased by a navy reserve officer in Ft Lauderdale. At that time the engine was de-moth balled and run Total time on engine 955 hours. Also on the boat are all the original brass instruction plates, flag pole and combination anchor and running light mast. Two 15 gallon monel fuel tanks with shut offs and return valves. the Westerbeke Perkins maintenance manual. was sanded to the bare fiberglass to remove all the old navy paint. The bottom was coated with two coats of Interlux barrier coat 2000 and the first coat of bottom paint added while the barrier coat was still tacky. All cracks and blisters were filled and the stern deck fiberglassed using epoxy resin. Two coats of Awlgrip 545 primer and three coats of Awlgrip Kingston Gray finish paint which made a yacht quality finish. A new guard rail was installed to navy specs and original brass guard was used. At that time the engine was removed from the boat and the front and rear seals replaced and the engine oil coolers and heat exchanger cleaned. The Paragon transmission was removed and completely rebuilt and now uses Dextron fluid. a battery switch and a Guest model 2610 automatic battery charger/converter All hoses replaced and an oil change hose added. Boat was recently completely refinished inside with one coat of Awlgrip Kingston Gray yacht quality paint this year and the hull had two coats of Awlgrip completed in late 2009 and has been kept polished with Awlgrip polish. Boat has a Standard Horizon Quest GX 1255S VHF radio Instruments include tachometer, oil pressure, oil temperature, water temperature, transmission pressure, volt meter and hourmeter Also installed is a low oil pressure and high water temperature warning buzzer. Bottom paint is two years old using Interlux Ultra Coat and has been kept cleaned. New owner is responsible for fresh bottom paint. Whale boats and all navy boats were built with fire retardant resin and full foam flotation. Solid fiberglas hull and not cored. They will not burn and cannot fully sink. This boat is as complete navy as you will find Engine and machinery is in very good condition; 2 new batteries 2016, two 1500 gpm bilge pumps added 2014, New bimini top 2015, Fresh ablative bottom paint 2017, Total Hours on Meter 1219, all lights changed to LED, interior foot lights, all Nav Lights, Aluminum boarding ladder 2014
