Custom 27' Nauset Cruiser 1983 ONLY USED IN FRESH WATER SINCE 1986 Downeast design (Royal Lowell)
470 mercruiser
Full cabin with all amenities
FlybridgeThis classic Nauset was built in 1983 in Cape Cod, Massachusetts in the downeast tradition
It is an extremely well-built solid boat
The hull is straight fiberglass (not balsa-cored)
It has a 470 merc inboard, which cruises comfortably at 8 knots and tops out at about 12 knots. At 8 knots it sips fuel.
Boat has a full keel and is very stableThe lower cabin sleeps 2 with and enclosed head with shower. It has a hanging locker to port and starboard and a great deal of storage
The helm area includes a galley with sink, fridge, stove and a dinette that converts to a sleeping berth
There are sliding doors which enclose the helm area for late season or foul weather cruising
The dinette cushions and headliner are fully functional but do show their age.Overall, the boat is in very good condition. The Flybridge has seating for two with hydraulic steering in both the upper and lower stations.Electronics included with the boat include radar, gps, and 2 vhf radios. The equipment is older but still functions well. It even includes a loran c and radio direction finder. (the previous owner was in his mid 80's and liked the look of the electronics)The previous owner purchased the boat in 1986 and brought it to the Finger Lake Region of NY where it has spent the last 28 years cruising the Erie and Champlain Canals through NY and Canada. I purchased the boat this spring to travel the Erie Canal to Albany, NY area. It is currently being used and docked in Albany, NY area. It has always been well maintained and is a great all-around cruiser. Unfortunately, it is too big for my needs. Nauset Marine is still building custom boats in Massachusetts. They no longer build a 27' but build a 28' with a price tag of over $250,000!
According to the previous owner, the cost to build this boat in 1983 was around $80,000Transportation would be the responsibility of the buyer. Due to its height and keel, a belly-trailer or low-rider trailer would most likely be required to transport by land. For payment, I would require a $1,000 deposit via paypal and balance to be paid within 1 week.
