Constructed with solid mahogany and Alaska yellow cedar, with a deck that is 3/4" plywood with non-skid sealing material (Gacoflex). The boat has been partially restored and modernized. A recent survey (2019) found the vessel construction sound and the machinery operational. Most of the upgrades recommended on the 2019 survey are complete. The restoration is almost complete on this classic wooden boat - make it yours and add your style to bring the Joint Venture back to her former glory.The Joint Venture has participated in the Olympia Wooden Boat Fair in 1987, 1988 and 1990, the Tacoma Daffodil Marine Parade in 1991, and was awarded 1st place in the Diamond Cruise 1990 Lighted Ship Award.Some newer features and upgrades include updated wiring, electric panels, bilge pump, VHF radio & antenna, 120 amp smart plug inlets, battery charger, transformer, batteries charged by engine and shore power, exterior paint, interior decor, ropes, fire extinguishers. The125 HP Ford Lehman Diesel engine was recently serviced and has approximately 400 unrecorded hours. The transmission is a Borg-Warner 2.5:1 reduction gear type driving a 1 1/2" SSshaft and a 21" LH 18" three blade propeller. All new electrical is Blue Sea equipment and was installed by a certified marine electrician.The boat was pulled out in June 2019.
