A little info for you. I will work on more as we go. If you want other details or info just let me know.
18 Foot Mahogany 1958 Mandella Mid Deck Flat Bottom V-Drive
SK Racer / Ski / Drag Boat.Rare Classic in true form with all original Rigging and hardware. Nicson and Gleenwood throughout. All Mahogany with glass wrapped around the bottom/sides to the deck. The fiberglass is finished clear on the sides to show through to the wood. deck and wood finishes have nine coats of iterlux clear and is finished off with bright white epoxy paint.I have had the boat for seven years. We used it every summer weekend for the first two years until it was in need of refinishing the deck. When I got the boat it had a 62 Ford FE 406 with a cracked block. I replaced it with a 70s Ford FE 360 bottom end and 68 galaxy 390 heads. The cam has a custom grind to match the blue dot 406 cam. Topped with performer manifold and AFB makes for reliable turn key operation. Direct drive to a Casale top loader V-drive with Forward and Neutral. To shift into drive you must shut the engine off, shift into Drive and be ready when you fire it back up.
This boat was built by Harlan Orrin. These hulls where built from 58-62 in mahogany. The last hull was used as the fiberglass mold. He still works on and sells plans for vintage boats. He built one from memory in 96. Other items like the Marbet/Moon throttle pedal that was made by Rozzie Barton really keep this thing original. The trailer is original with vintage mags. The only other original wood hull from that era was a 59. It was found unfinished three or four years ago. The bare hull sold for 18k. It was finished out at Miller Boats. This boat draws attention regardless of where you are and gets respect from the people that recognize the original equipment and nostalgia.18 Foot Mahogany 1958 Mandella Mid Deck Flat Bottom V-Drive

I really like this boat! How do I speak with you ? Very interested! Please get back to me
I saw this boat at a show, and it is really nice! We have a pre-58 wood boat built by Joe Mandella which is similar, but bigger and with more freeboard. Yours looks better. Regardless, I would really appreciate it you could send me the pictures you have in your ad for my boat files. I tried to print them from the ad, and failed.
Thanks,
Bob Cross
