NO RESERVE
Litton Universal 41 Cockpit Trawler with Aft Cabin.
The boat is located atSunset Beach Californiazip 92649.The boat is on private property at a private dock. Not in a marina.
All pictures and videos were taken by me in Feb
2019. The bottom was cleaned by a diver at the same time. Zincs are at about 25-30%. New bottom paint needed during next haul-out. She is docked at a private
slip and you have to arrange your own moorage, you will be given enough time to
do it.
These Litton Universal trawlers are on the market for around $100K. (links for the price reference are at the bottom of listing) This one is not cosmetically perfect. We can talk details over the phone if you have any questions.
Good Autopilot. Mercury 15 HP outboard comes with the boat, just bring you own dinghy. Two spare props, Two anchors, Windlass, Radar, Bimini, 2 VHF, Depth, 2 Compasses, Stereo/radio. Barometer, Clock. Full size fridge/freezer Norcold needs service. Seems to be a relay. Powers on, but no sound.
Four New 8D batteries, New charging system AIMS Power with very powerful Inverter. All in one.
Engines start easy and run quiet with little smoke until warm up and then run clear. Engines hours were estimated by a mechanic for the previous owner as there is no hour meter. Under power she is gliding through the water with no wake at all. See videos in links below.
The boat was rarely used by the last owner for 20+ years. Upgrades and basic maintenance only.
This beauty has distinctive forward-raked windshield that provides a mariner with many benefits: no rainwater intrusion, less glare, improved visibility, less reflection from windshield and less sun into the cabin to name a few.
One more bonus is a cockpit with the direct access from the aft cabin, a rare feature on aft cabin trawler. Tub/shower in the aft head.
Many levels and passages on floor and deck, all are designed to accommodate owners and guests activities underway and at the dock. She has easy access into the aft cabin from the transom via swim platform with port and starboard deck access doors in the salon. Her solid fiberglass hull has a hard chine, a well-flared bow, and a deep prop-protecting keel. All-teak interior. Double berth in the aft stateroom. Lower helm plus full bridge steering station.
An economical boat to operate, most were sold with twin Lehman 120hp diesels, which cruise at a steady 8 knots burning about 2.5 gph. With 450 gallons of fuel, the range can easily exceed 1,000 miles.
Things to address. As any Taiwanese trawler of that era she has leaks in a few windows and discoloration on some panels from previous leaks. Couple windows have cracked glass. Some dry rot and possible delamination around the lower helm window that is visible on the outside corner too, plus under the aft looking window on the starboard side. Port side salon door needs a lock and reinforcement in the lock area. Top layer (seems like thick layers of paint to me) delaminated sections on the bridge floor, with no water intrusion into the boat.Huge sundeck floor is solid.Teak decks dont leak to the best of my knowledge and appear solid. One spreader on the mast broke off. Salon cushions have wear, hence some turned upside down.
Nothing mentioned above will prevent you from enjoying your cruising time. It's not a wet boat by any means. All of it can be done whenever. I didn't figure out marine heads plumbing arrangements and didn't use them being at the dock and cruising only inside channels to be on the safe side. Deck fills are very tight and will need lubricant and a bit of hammering to open. The previous owner hardly used the boat, yet owned her for about 20 years. If you need to ask details and or talk about the boat, welcome to call me.
The ceiling is true and dry throughout the boat. Hull is in very good shape.
Call/Text/WhatsApp phone I might have forgotten something I know about the boat, so welcome to call after you have read all my ad and inspected all images in the link. Pictures will tell you much more than I can.
