Up for auction is our IMMACULATE 1976 Hydro Swift 20' V-bottom boat. This boat has always been stored indoors since new. Iam the second owner ofthis boat, I purchased it from a friend who purchased it new. Although it does not have an hour meter, I know the hours are low. This boat is very original and untouched. My friend whom purchased it new was a automotiveprofessor at a University. He was an ASE certified master mechanic who maintained his personnel itemsto perfection. Everything works greatexcept the trim gauge. All of the mechanical on this boat is like new. It is very dependable and runs perfect. We just serviced the engine anddrive unit. It also has new water pumps and filters. The engine is a factory Mercruiser 233 hp 351 Ford. It has been upgraded with an aluminumintake manifold and a Holley4 barrel carburetor. This boat has no leaks and the bilge area stays very clean. The fuel tank isaluminumand holds about 35 gallons. The shifter goes in and out ofgear very smooth. All of the power trim components work perfect.
Driving this boat is a real pleasure. With the steep V-bottom entry it takes large waves very well and rides smooth. The hull is high quality and very solid thanks to its "hand laid" fiberglass bottom and sides.Hydro Swift built great boats in their time, compared to most modern boat manufactures who just use chopper guns to lay the fiberglass in the molds for a quick turnaround time. Thusresulting in a weaker hull that flexes and shakes getting stress cracks in rough water. This boat has no hull damage or stress cracks, its one SOLID old boat!
The interior is all original and very clean. The vinyl on the top of the engine cover has just a few small cracks, otherwise the interioris perfect. The engine cover would be a very easy repair for a trim shop. The carpet is clean with no mold or mildew smell. The bow has seating for three people and also has a toneau cover. The four bucket seats under the hardtop fold down to two separate beds with storage underneath them. The two rear seats are on either side of the engine which can easily be moved up to make a full sun deck over the engine. This boat is very roomy and can accommodate 9+ passengers. It has a folding windshield with a windshield wiper for thedriver. It also has side skirts that are clear for the sides of the hardtop. The cover is a custom cover that is in good condition. It retains it's original cassette player/radio with four speakers, it allsounds pretty good too!
The original trailerjust underwent a full restoration. It was disassembled sanded and repainted using high quality PPG automotive paint. The wiring was updated and all of the lights were replaced.New bearing buddysand repacked wheel bearings. Michelin tires with Chrome baby moons. A new spare tire and winch strap. The trailer looks new and has nice detail!!
Fiberglass boats of this erra are very cool and retro. The classic wooden boats are very neat, but require lots of maintenance. Lots of classic boat owners are turning to these boats and referring to them as "Glassics". Their the next rage for the classic boating scene.
I have a clear title for the trailer and a registration for the boat. In Colorado we don't have boat titles like in other states. If you have question please call me at phone. I also have a video on my phone of the boat drivingin the waterlast weekend. If you would like to see it, let me know and Ill send it to you via text. This Glassic is ready to enjoy!!
