My father has owed this 1966Howard flat bottom V-Drive for about 15yrs. The boat was purchased from its original owner in the Long Beach Ca. area. The engine that is currently in the boat is a steel crank fully balanced 428ci fe Ford. The heads and manifold have been port matched as well as some porting of the intake and exhaust runners. The engine spins about 5200rpm and is solid. We just spent 10 days in Lake Powell Utah with this boat and it was a blast to ski behind and we also did a couple 1/2 day longer outings in it. My father had a local shop that regularly builds and services flat bottom boats and the owner of the shop looked the hull over and did not have any concerns about its age or structural integrity. I believe the v drive is a Cassell and it does have forward, neutral and reverse.The boat isn't a 10 but is a very nice boat.
