Classic Fiberglass Lapstrake Canal CruiserI built Petunia II this past winter. Located, Bradenton, FL. Mid-Gulf Coast, below Tampa/above Sarasota.15' long with a beam of 5', she has plenty of room inside the cockpit for your cruising and sight seeing.Most of the hardware is antique or vintage but she is a modern cruiser with all new electrical, fuel system. Solid fiberglass hull.Powered by a quiet and efficient Yamaha 15 HP 4-Cycle outboard or the MinnKota 50 pound thrust electric trolling motor, Petunia II is a perfect cruiser to take some time off and spend the afternoon with some quiet time.Here's a list of some of the parts/items that make this boat special:-"Bow Pudding" custom made by Barbara Merry, "The Marlinspike Artist"-Rhode Island.-1 1/2" Manila twisted rope rubrail. (Treated with Thompson's Water Seal and bedded in 3M-5200, screwed to the rail with SS screws).-Red Cedar edge glued (West System Epoxy) fore and aft decks.-Steam-bent clear pine side decks, coaming and rails.-9' antique oars with vintage oarlocks.-Perko "Beehive" stern light.-Sparton boat horn.-Lowrance "Elite-5 HDI GPS Chartplotter/Depth Sounder with "DownScan Imaging". (Provides a sepia picture of the bottom).-Yamaha 15 HP 4-Cycle Outboard Motor, new carburetor, running on Non-Ethanol gas only. On board flushing system.-3 gallon and 6 gallon fuel tanks. (The three gallon tank lasts a long time with this motor).-MinnKota 50 pound thrust electric trolling motor.-2 Group-27 deep cycle 12 volt batteries (to power the electric motor).-Outboard motor tiller extension.-4 new Lifejackets in case.-Weems & Plath quartz marine clock and matching barometer (with hydrometer/temp).-Two bilge pumps (Rule 2000 and Rule 500) with new flappers. (Boat hull is solid fiberglass, no leaks).-Extensive electrical panel with all marine grade switches, battery ON/OFF selector, volt meter gauge, 12 volt output jack.-Ancor marine tinned copper wiring throughout the boat.-2 new throw cushions.-2 new sitting cushions.-New heavy duty Continental galvanized trailer.-New "Sunbrella" custom made cover with two HD zippers/Velcro.Lots more to describe but if you are looking for a very classy and memorable canal cruiser, take a good look at Petunia II's pictures and give me a call to arrange a showing.Note that Petunia II was built by me and we planned on cruising on her for years but I recently moved to a canal condo community and only one boat is allowed, therefore she has to move onto a new home.Petunia II is fairly light weight and easy to trailer and to launch. No need for a large car/truck to pull her from port to port. The aluminum mast easily pulls out for trailering. I trailer it with my Honda CRV.
