Hawaiian 28' Day Cruise

Up for sale is anexceptionally clean and rare 1979 Hawaiian 28' Day Cruiser.

History

This boat has been stored inside a large shop since 2007. It was covered up and sitting on the original 3 axle trailer. The boat had not been on the water since 2004 but was registered til 2009. The older gentleman this boat was purchased from statd he had owned it since new. He bought the boat from a dealer in Sacramento Ca. in 1979 and used it very little over all these years and now is wanting to sell his property and needs to clear out his shop.

The boat was extremely dirty, even with the cover, the trailer tires were all holding air and in great shape. Once at my shop, I began to clean her up and noted the exceptional conditional of the boat all around. The fiberglass was in great shape, no big scratches, dings or any other evidence of misuse. The seats were in decent and original condition, however , the inside upper deck was soft in some spots.

We pulled out the interior, the old walking deck and replaced it with all new 3/4" marine plywood and re-glassed the entire inside. We notice the hull was in excellent condition.

The Boat

Hawaiian was one the most popular boats in the 70's and 80's. It's streamline hull took heavy water very well and was a very comfortable boat to operate. Her looks were popular with the Deep V hull, tall gunwale, step decks andforeword cabin.

This hull, inside and out are in excellent condition, the trim, rails glass are all original to this boat as is the interior. The boat has a considerable amount of storage thru out the entire center deck pull out lids that cover 12" to 16" by 28" of storage. The engine compartment is clean, clear of rot and very solid.

The Engine

This Hawaiian came wit the Chevrolet big block 454 ci. engine and Panther Jet. It performed extremely fast for it's size and needed to carry a lot of fuel as it took a lot to operate. This engine turns over easily but I did not attempt to get it started. It appears to be complete but for the shift control. The cables are all present and seem to be in good condition.

The wiring appears to be complete and all there. The keys are still in the ignition. The gauges all react to power but unknown if accurate or not.

The Trailer

This trailer is an original 3 axle trailer made for this boat. It is in excellent condition and can be towed anywhere. It is currently registered with a permanent Calif. plate
