This circa 1970 original GW Invader 10ft speedboat is in need of total restoration and would make a perfect project boat. Actual manufacturing date of the boat is unknown.I received this boat back in 2004 with the intention of restoring her, but I have too many projects and not enough time. This is an original Invader which is rated for either a 50hp or 55hp engine; whereas the new versions are rated only for a 25hp due to new Coast Guard rating system. As far as my inspection of the hull, there have been no penetrations or repairs as best I can tell. The transom has a slight separation on top that a little fiberglass resin or epoxy could easily fix.The inside hull bottom (see picture) needs some reinforcing with fiberglass mat or cloth and resin. This would make a great project boat for a father and son or daughter. An original fully completed factory boat weighed in at 250lbs.This boat has no seats, no steering, no lights; all have to be installed. The used trailer can be yours for an additional $200; comes with brand new galvanized rims and tires. The boat is located in Sullivan County, NY near Monticello, in the town of Bethel, home to the 1969 Woodstock Rock Festival and needs to be picked up there unless you send a shipper to come and package and ship the boat. Boat is being sold "as-is" with no warranties of merchantability is implied or expressed. Any questions, please ask.P.S. I have the original Bill of Sale, e-mail correspondence and Michigan Registration (expired on March 31, 1998; still have the renewal original registration stickers too dated 1999, unmounted); I purchased it May 29, 2004; Buyer will receive all 4 items plus Bill-of-Sale from me.P.P.S. For those interested in placing a best-offer price, please take note that I have already turned down a $200 offer. P.P.P.S. Please do not place an offer at the last second as I might not be able to get back to you in time to either accept or reject your price offer. Someone had offered $300 near the expiration of the posting but I was not aware of it and was not able to respond once the posting expired. If you do place an offer and I do not get back to you, then the posting expired; don't think I ignored you as I always respond to all offers- high or low. Also, I was asked about the condition of the transom and hull. The transom is sound as far as I can tell, no noticeable soft spots. There are some spider cracks in the bottom gelcoat which can be expected from a runabout that is close to 50 years old and I would estimate that about 35% of the interior hull bottom needs glass matt replacement.I have used Interlux Interprotect 2000e on an Invader restoration that I am currently working on and it did a very good job of bottom coating and finishing the hull. I used the gray color then coated that with a finishing paint. That hull is currently being stored for later completion (not for sale).
