Rare Glen-L Missile hemi boat, restored in the 80's, needs restoration.
Description: 

    Rare 1957 Hemi Powered Glen-L Missile Speed Boat. 1957 Chrysler 392 Hemi Engine, V-drive, Hurst Shifter, Barefoot gas pedal, dual 10 gallon gas tanks, '77 Calkins trailer.
    Restored in the mid 80's which included rebuilding the 392 Hemi engine. Needs a full restoration again. Will need some of the wood replaced but 95% or more of the wood is solid and restorable. Engine should be disassembled before starting due to amount of time since last running but it has not had many hours since the rebuild.
    In Aug. of '88 the boat was being towed to the lake for a day of cruising the water when the trailer came off the truck at 45 m.p.h. The owners watched as the trailer went into a farm field, still going about 40 m.p.h. until the front of the trailer dug into the ground, launching the boat forward. It almost cleared the trailer but fell a few feet short, hitting the crank handle pole on the front and leaving a large gash in the bottom of the boat. It also broke off the turning fin and bent one of the propeller blades. The owner vowed to one day get it back on the water, but it has been under a tarp in a carport ever since. Ready for a new owner to finally bring this legendary speed boat back to its former glory!
