My 1961 Center Deck Glaspar G3 is a true SURVIVOR. The boat was used by the original owner for three summers and then according to his son, he put the boat into dry storage where it remained for over 40 years. I am told that he decided that the boat was too fast for him and that is what prompted his decision to put it in storage. His son mentioned that he would take the boat outside on the trailer once a year and start the engine, then winterize and put it back in the storage facility. The boat is in excellent condition. I decided NOT to do a restoration on the boat but leave it in its original pristine state. I carefully cleaned and rubbed out the gel coat. The gel had dulled from storage and the deck gel had superficial crazing. I was able to bring back the original luster after many hours of compounding with various grits. The deck is a very rare Baby Blue, the Hull is white and the cove stripe is Black. The crazing is noticeable but is in tact and is NOT chipping off. The deck could be restored and the crazing eliminated but I wanted to leave the boat as original. All that have seen the boat agree with my decision. The transom is excellent as are the stringers. I did restore the original gas tank back to as new condition. I wanted to make sure that there would be no dirt or rust in the fuel. The tank is as new both inside and out. I also had the seat re done in the original white. The original material was completely in tact but had become brittle from age and would not stand up to a persons weight thus a new cover was in order. I have a very fine upholstery man that I have used for years and he matched it perfectly as original. The 1959 Evinrude V 50 outboard motor was bought by the owner in 1961 as a left over. It has always been on the boat and is in EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION. It is the Starfire model. All the chrome and plastic is in excellent condition. The motor has very few hours on it and it shows. The trailer is also original to the boat. I have gone over the trailer from top to bottom, adding new tires, lights, and wiring. It is in excellent roadable condition and can be pulled over the road anywhere. If your like your antique boats in Original Condition (they are only original once!) than this is a boat you should take a look at. There will be NO DISAPPOINTMENTS!. The new owner will be required to send me a $500 deposit promptly after the boat has been purchased. The remaining amount MUST be paid prior to shipment. Shipment is the owners responsibility. I will gladly help with this at my end but the boat must be paid for in full with the funds cleared into my bank account BEFORE I release the boat. The owner may pay me in person if he or she is coming for the boat. I would ask that CASH in person be used. Please, NO personal Checks if you plan to drive away with the boat. Please feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have prior to purchase. I will gladly answer them for you. I want this to be an enjoyable experience for the both of us so Please ask your questions BEFORE making your pledge to purchase.
