This is as close to a barn find as will find, only the barn was a garage. This boat has been stored in a garage and not used or even started since 1976! I apologies for using the word Chris Craft in the headline, but the rarity of this boat demanded a find a way to let those that might be interested, find it.This is one of three made of this model by the Portland Boat Company in Portland Oregon. It was made for speed with an Oldsmobile J2 engine with a hydraulic transmission, both still in the boat. The fact that the boat was stored inside kept the wood in great shape. There is NO dry rot found on the boat. I took the interior out (easy to do) to confirm this and would be happy to give a serious buyer a virtual tour via face time (I phone). I impulsively bought the boat when it was posted to Craigslist a couple of weeks ago, not realizing what is involved in giving such a boat the respect it deserves. I am confident that with minimal effort I could have it running an on the water. I did take an afternoon properly turning the motor over (used miracle mystery oil overnight before turning over). It turned smoothly with the new battery I have put in it. I also put new tires on the factory original trailer (trailer has some surface rust, but minimal, and no structural issues showing, Bearings were greased prior to driving the boat to my home where it now sits in another garage in Toledo, WA..PICTURES: The picture of the boat in the driveway was right after it came out of the garage and is how it looks now. I have included a few photo's of the outside and the inside so you can see the condition of the inside. This boat was one of the first, I am told, to integrate fiberglass, and the sides at that. You can see how this looks on the picture of the very 1st of the 3 built, a show winning boat that also still survives in the Portland metro area. I will repeat, the boat I am selling is the boat on the trailer, and pictured in some of the shots. I have also include a few pictures give to me from the boats early days.To summarize: The boat is in great shape, with no major structural issues. There are some issues that I'll list as clearly as I can: Port windshield is cracked and will need to be replace (any glass shop can cut this flat piece), the motor does not run, but I can confirm it turn over. I put in new plugs, distributor and related stuff, but did not add gas, or try to fire it. The boat will need a light sanding, pretty much all over and revarnishing/paint. The trailer should be sanded or sand blasted and painted. The seats, floorboards dash, etc, are all in very sound solid shape, no rot. You should expect to reupholster the boat as the vinyl is obviously dated and getting stiff. All lights work on the trailer. Cool Factor: I do have the roughly 1' longUnderstand this will be a project for someone and you should have a passion and understanding of what you are getting into with any wooden boat. I did not, and for that reason, am not in a position to treat this boat the way it should be treated.DON"T BID ON THIS BOAT: If you have not asked questions, and contacted me (if you send me your phone, I'll likely call within 24 hours. I am told by the person that sold it to me that it is a '59, as well as by the owner of the other boat that has one. The title shows it as a 1960's model, and I am unsure of why, but the numbers on the hull match on this very old Oregon title.
