Gar Wood Commodore

1947 Gar Wood Commodore runabout. This is a very rough, but rare boat in need of everything. According to Tony Mollica, one of the eminent Gar Wood authorities, this particular boat, according to the hull #, was one of the very last to leave the plant. It was actually sold at auction after production had ceased at the plant.The original Chrysler power plant is Long gone. It comes with a late 50s or early 60s Chris Craft 283 and a later model 350 Chevy block. The plan was to make one motor out of the two. It also comes with exhaust manifolds and other marine specific parts that are not pictured.More than 90% of the original chrome is also included.This is an ultra rare boat that deserves to be brought back to life by the right person.
