The person that bought it last week totally flakes out on the deal and left me hanging.Sorry to those of you that were interested in it. Ive lowered the price in hopes of a quick sale and also to save you some money.Thank youPrice Drop to $5500.00 seriously you cant even buy a stock 454 for barely this price, and who wants a stock engine in their boat when they can have a reliable and very simple twin turbo built by Gale Banks?Hello there, what youre looking at is the real deal, its a Gale Banks big block Chevy, blue printed and balanced, twin turbo charged, Intercooled, oil cooled engine in original condition except for the new paint and valve covers. This engine was a barn find for us and we were really happy to be able to get our hands on it.It was intended for our tunnel hull boat, but times of changed and we are getting out of the boating completely. When we bought the engine we were told that it was a dyno time engine Only and that it was one of several built back in the early 80s for an offshore racing team of Circus Circus. Of course we take that with a grain of salt we made the purchase and we brought it home. First thing we did was crack it open and check out the internals, what we found was just absolutely amazing and put smiles on all of us. Take a look at one of the pictures that I posted, its of the inside of the original valve cover when we opened it up, and then the picture of the other valve cover is the new updated one.By the looks of it, it really is a no time engine, you can just tell by the internals being so clean! So all we did was cleaned it up and painted it to make it real nice and pretty lol, because in our boat it was going to be exposed, and the color of the block was black boring like the rest of them.Other than painting it we installed a full set of cell pro gaskets on everything except the heads, they did not need a new gasket they are the real McCoy and we were told not to mess with it by Mr. Banks. The expert on these engines gave us some real sound advice and we followed it, we upgraded the silicone hoses and installed Mishi Moto hose clamps, we polished all of the aluminum that was a task but it turned out real nice. Gail banks built these engines to Last, in their own words they build these engines to run wide open indefinitely, what causes them to break jumping out of the water high revving and coming back into the water, its those sudden jolts that due the most damage to the equipment. The horsepower Ive been told is right around 850 conservatively, the twin Ray J aircraft grade turbos are without waist gates, instead they have a small hole thats drilled into the turbine section, and that allows the turbos not to exceed the metered boost that they determined when they set it up. Waste gates could be installed obviously not on the turbo itself but externally, but is far as Im concerned and many many others that run these engines today, they run great theyre reliable their TwinTurbo they sound good they have good torque and good horse power and are very simple to work on.Anyways the engine is complete less ignition box someone borrowed it and never gave it back! But this thing is ready to install in whatever type of boat from 18 foot to a 28+ foot offshore boat, or it could be converted to a car engine, but I think its purpose was intended for offshore racing!Gail Banks is the leader and our four father of turbo charged engines! Banks is renowned in the performance engine building community, heck hes known all around the world for building bad a$$ turbo charged engines! This is an oldie but a goodie in original condition, I dont believe other than in Gales museum you will find another complete untouched dyno time only engine like this. Most of these engines that are still in boats have been rebuilt a few times and are still running awesome. I just ran into somebody at the launch ramp that had the same exact engine in his 21 Schiada, hooked up to a Turbo 400 transmission and he couldnt talk enough good things about it. Saying its pushing his Schiada close to the triple digits in stock form! This engine is complete with all of the water jacketed exhaust system, and the rare water jacketed turbo shields so it could be installed in a closed vessel. Thats what it was intended for in the beginning anyways.Shipping and in closing,I would be willing to help with delivery if the distance is reasonable and if the buyer was cooperative and paid for expenses. This engine came out of the collection of the late Bill Williams estate, he was the part owner of Circus Circus Hotel and Casino, I dont have any paperwork to validate this but, the old timer I bought this engine from was 85 years old and good friends with the manager of the Circus Circus Marine Racing way back when, his story to me was he got his engine from his friend up in Reno. His friend was in charge of all the marine stuff back then for the owner Mr Williams and this engine was one of several engines purchased by them from Banks and was intended to be raced along with the others. So the engine was dialed in by banks, and prepped to be installed in the boat but never was. The offshore racing ended and the engine was covered up and put aside for the next deal. They ran the unlimited Hydro miss Circus Circus, just for a few seasons as well. These guys were heavy into performance boating back then there is no doubt. Anyways thats the story if youve read through this whole thing this is pretty much all I know as to the background and history behind this engine and its pretty cool I dont hold any value on that though. This listing is for the engine only the story is free and can be validated by calling the person I bought it from the guy is still alive and well last we spoke, and a pretty cool old timer!I remember when I bought this engine from him, I asked him a question, I said why are you selling it? He came back to me with son Im 85 years old Im not building an offshore boat anytime soon, Id rather see it go to someone whos going to use it then sit in my shop covered up.Thanks for reading any questions just feel free to ask, make me an offer you never know, Im ready to deal!I have plenty of pictures of the internals if you want to see them let me know, its exactly how Gail banks built it nothing is touched.
