This is an INCREDIBLE FULLY RESTORED 1959 Duracraft DuraGlas 16' Classic Fiberglass Day Cruiser Hard Top Boat with a Restored 1965 Mercury 1000 100hp Outboard Motor. This is a RARE boat, built by Duracraft of Monticello, Arkansas under their DuraGlas line of fiberglass boats. With the unique deep bow and hull design this amazing classic provides a smooth ride even in choppy water with the Clipperline styling. The original hard top keeps you cool on hot summer days. The restoration took about 15 months to bring this classic to like new condition. It began deep with new stringers and floor. The fiberglass was restored and meticulously finished. It features all new wiring with each function fused, new battery, new old stock Airguide speedometer and pitot assembly, and new upholstery with high grade marine vinyl. A new windshield was fabricated using the original as a template (it has a very unique windshield) by The Plastics Guy in California, who is probably the best marine windshield craftsman for classic boats in the country. The old pulley-style steering system was replaced with a Seastar Solutions NFB 4.2 system which provides increased safety and smooth easy turning. New snap-in custom made clear vinyl windows and a back cover keeps the boat protected and clean. Take them along in the boat and if you happen on a shower snap in the windows and back cover and enjoy the sound of the rain drops on the hard top.
The vintage boat trailer has also been fully restored with new paint, wheel hubs, bearings, wheels, wiring, lights, coupler, Attwood safety chains, winch/strap, bunks, spare tire and rack and new Kenda Road Star tires. New BoatBuckle G2 Transom Tie Downs makes securing the boat a snap.
The 1965 Mercury 1000 100hp has also been fully restored. This motor was purchased from a family that is well known in the classic boat world here in Minnesota. It has approximately 10 hours on the motor since restoration. This motor was professionally restored and has solid powerhead internals, new fuel pumps, restored carbs, new ignition system (points, condensors, distributor cap, rotor, rectifier and rebuilt harnesses). The Lower Unit has also been rebuilt with (of course) a new water pump and new propeller. It has new control cables and a newer style control box was added to provide enhanced safety features not found on the original. This motor runs extremely well. Its consistently starts very easy and is FAST with an impressive take off to plane.
With the full restoration this boat, motor and trailer should provide many years of enjoyment as long as it it maintained! Two restored 6 gallon fuel tanks (with new quick connect bulb/fuel line) are included.
When considering the purchase of a classic boat, with full restoration to the boat, motor and trailer, take into account what the cost of a new boat or used boat in this condition would be. In most cases, the value to price of a fully restored classic far exceeds what one would pay for a used boat in the same price range with little to no depreciation.
