I picked up this boat from Starved Rock Marina on September 11, 2001 after getting off shift. My wife called me while I was on my way to tell me what was going on in New York. What was suppose to be a happy day turned into an extremely sad day. The sales rep and I sat in front of the TV for hours. Never a word was said about the boat or much else. We finally got around to doing the paperwork and I left with a heavy heart and a special boat. Anyway, I bought the boat to pull my kids and their friends around Cedar Lake in Indiana. We would go there about four times a year in addition to cruising the Cal-Sag canal out to Lake Michigan a couple of times a year. The engine was replaced about 8 years ago thanks to a marina that forgot to winterize it. The out drive was replaced a year or so later thanks to a log floating under the water in the middle of the canal. In addition I replaced the wood deck with 3/4 inch marine grade plywood that I varnished and fiberglassed. I also redid the front seats, back rests, rear seats, engine cover, and side panels. The stereo has four speakers and a sub-woofer. Things that you may want to change: The captains seat, passenger seat, and the faded dash. Several minor issues: Front headlight not working, Trim control tab on throttle works in the down position all the time but only sometimes when raising. I end up reaching underneath to wiggle the wires. Otherwise I use the Trim tab parking switch. On the trailer, I replaced the brakes and surge system about five years ago. The tires are starting to show signs of dry rot. I would replace them in a year or two. The strap on the winch should be replaced but still works. That's all I can think of. All in all it's a good boat with a deep V that will handle Lake Michigan's shore line well as it will interior lakes. I will include the tubes, skies, knee board, ropes, bumpers, and lifejackets in the sale. OH! I have a bimini, summer cover, full enclosure, and a winter cover for the boat. All for only $5500! Hell, the engine and out drive are worth more than that! I am selling because my kids are grown and my wife and I prefer to go camping. Things change but that boat will always be my 911 boat.
