1976 76 Conqueror Marine Sundance 16 Nissan Datsun Jet Boat -==- the

story of Conqueror Marine and the Sundance is interesting: A Datsun

dealer in Compton, Ca in the Seventies thought he would branch out into

the pleasure craft business and thereby boost sales of his Nissan

product. He developed a set of manifolds and bell housing and mounts etc

for a 16 foot flat bottom hull and fitted a Hamilton jet drive.

Hamilton are largely considered the originators of commercially viable

jet drives and these suited the shallow rivers of New Zealand where they

were developed. The engine of course is a Nissan L20 inline 4 with a

displacement of 2.0 L and 110hp. The solid reliable torque and

simplicity of these motors push these flat hulls along nicely. As one

can imagine these very rare boats now are sought after by the Nissan

Mini Truck crowd. Do a search on the web and one will find lots more

info on people restoring these. This boat has never been run by me as it has a stuck motor and it will

need to be replaced or rebuilt. The head looks clean and usable. Hull is

sound. Some controls and steering is included but consider this a

project.
