The boat has 16 working engines, six pumps all in working condition, as it was maintained by the city of Seattle until 2013. It was a political hot potato until I acquired it last year. I intended to convert it into a project that was not feasible and so I decided it to sell it, as long as it reaches enough views to generate the right buyer. I have clear title and the buyer must be able to secure with a 20% deposit of selling price immediately and paid in full within 72 hours of end of bid.Keep in mind that the vessel has raw materials including hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of antique brass, all cannons are brass, also the compass alone is worth over $5000. The engines are sparkling, like new inside and the mechanics run like a clock, all electronics and navigation systems are in working order. It has about 3000 gallons of fuel in it already. We have a survey done by the city of Seattle that estimates value of $5,6 million if painted. The ship is located in the Seattle, WA. (We have a program to become a partner, a timeshare program where you can be part-owner for $1000USD) visit w w w . t h e a l k i . c o m for details .This is a real boat, a real deal with real people behind that have time and money invested in this vessel. Stop bidding on it if you do not plan to purchase it. I need to sell this vessel or restore it via a partnership program or the scrap yard!!! It is a real historical mechanical marvel, at one point it might become priceless when known as "The Spirit of The American Revolution" ( It only needs paint ) visit w w w . t h e a l k i . c o mHull:" ALKIMake: Commercial Fire Boat (retired)Year built: 1927 ( repowered in 1947)Model: Retired Seattle Fire BoatLWL: 118' LOA: 123 Beam: 26'Weight: 196 gross tonsHeight: 27' 4'' Draft: 9 ftConstruction: SteelBuilt: Oakland CA, designed by Pacific Coast EngineeringBottom Painted: hauled out 2013Last Survey: 2013Engines: Twin GM Cleveland supercharged 8-268A diesel main engines.Year: 1947Horsepower: 500 each @ 1200 RPMHours: 6400Number of tanks: 4 capacity: 8290 totalThis riveted steel plate boat is fully equipped for firefighting or as a refueling vessel but can easily be retrofitted to utilize as a fishing or mining vessel. Individual Byron Jackson four-stage 2,700 GPM fire pumps powered by two tandem mounted Detroit Diesel 6-71 engines are connected to individual sea chests with manual gate valves. These individual pumps supply sea water to an engine room deck head mounted loop fire main which is fitted with low pressure hydraulic operated isolation valves. Connected to this loop system are the deck mounted fire monitors, bow under wharf fire nozzles, bow thrusters and stern thrusters. Water pressure within the system is controlled manually by throttle settings for the individual fire pump power plants. The propulsion system bow and stern thrusters are pilothouse controlled after start-up.The MV ALKI is also fitted with six (6) individual fire pumps powered by diesel engines. On deck is six (6) manually controlled deck mounted pedestal and swiveled fire nozzles, remote controlled 4,000 GPM fire monitor on the House Top and seven (7) manually controlled 2,020 GPM fire monitors for a total potential of 16,200 GPM.The total fuel capacity is 8,290 gallons and the ALKI is equipped with a Fuel Transfer System which enables her to refuel other boats out on the water.MAIN ENGINE - PORT-Manufacturer Cleveland (GM)-Cylinders 8 Model 8-268A-Starting Air-Fuel Diesel-Cooling Water-Engine hours 6,378 hrs-Power 500 H.P.-Rating (brake hp) 500 HP @ 1200 RPM (Unrestricted Continuous) for vessel's operating at rated load and rated speed up to 100% of the time without interruption or load cycling (80% to 100% load factor).FunctionalityMV ALKI is fitted with a loop fire fighting system.
