This 1939 Chris Craft 15 that has only had two owners since new. The original owner was a professional water skier and upgraded the power from the original 4 cylinder to the larger 6 cylinder back when the boat was fairly new. The original owner also glassed the bottom supposedly for speed purposes. The current and second owner has owned the boat since around 1970 and has only used the boat in Candlewood lake in Connecticut. It is registered in New York as that's where the owners permanent residence was. We were told that the boat was always garage kept when not being used and it looks by the original condition that it was. The boat appears to be very original and the owner stated that it was with the exception of the steering wheel, engine, engine box forward sectionand throttle. It was in a garage when we picked it up and the owner stated it hasn't been run in many years but ran well when put away. We did turn the engine over by hand and it spun over very easily. It shifted into forward , neutral and reverse well but the linkageseamed a little stiff from sitting. The steering works well but was slightly stiff as well. The linkages and gear all look very intact and original. Overall this boat looks to be as original and unmolested as you can expect to find a 75 year old boat.
