I am moving inland this summer and need to sell my long time (17 years) 1973 CHB 34 Salon model trawler, hull number 62. Over the years I have made numerous coastal trips in this sturdy and reliable ship, and will really miss it! It is currently in a 40' slip in San Pedro, CA.
The boat has had light use the past 5 years, however, during that time the engine has been run every few weeks to ensure it stayed in running condition.
As noted immediately below, the boat needs to be hauled! It has had the bottom cleaned monthly for the first 14 years, and twice monthly for the past 3 years, as there is essentially no bottom paint left! Most recent diver report can be provided.
Boat Needs the Following, and the low price is reflects this!
1) Bottom paint. Bottom has been cleaned monthly since I bought it in 2006. For the past three years, it has been cleaned twice each month. The twice monthly reports from the bottom cleaning service indicate that no blistering is present.
2) (5) below the waterline thru holes require replacement or removal. Only one is used - for the engine water intake. Recommend that the water intake seacock be replaced, and the others either removed and the holes glassed over, or new thru holes/seacocks/caps can be installed.
3) The propeller shaft packing gland needs repacking, and the locking nut has no more room to tighten.
4) The rudder shaft packing gland should be replaced.
5) Each of the two cabin doors have panels that should be replaced due to termite damage. No termite damage elsewhere.
6) Needs external deck paint.
7) Pilot house needs painting.
8) (2) stainless steel rails with cracks need replacing or weld repairs.
