Selling this Carlson Glastron Contender 14 1/2 foot tunnel hullboat with trailer. The paperwork says its a 1970 but due to it being finished in metal flake I am guessing it may be a year or two older.. This boat was in the water in the spring of2013 with a60 hp Johnson. The hull has had the transom raised to accept a 20 inch motor in a past restoration and it remains in good serviceable condition. I had plans on doing this up for a toy but have found other interests and this is just setting around and it needs someone to "lover her up" and get back on the water.
HULL:The hullappears in good shape with a few minorgel coat nicks and dingsnormally associated with a boat of this age. The decks have been painted in a two tone blue close to the original metal flake colors. The lower hull remains the original blue metal flake and is in good condition. There is no holes or punctures in the hull and it does not appear to leak. The transom appears solid with some patches from past motor bolts and some minor stress cracks. There is a steering helm in place and a well used steering cable, I would definitely upgrade the steering system for safety. There are gauges in place but their condition is unknown. This is a great project for the performance boater.
TRAILER:This is a basic steel painted vintage trailer. By the looks Iam guessing it is newer the same age of the boat. There are new tires on the trailer and the bearings seem fineand there are no working lights. There is NO paperwork for the trailer
This is an excellentchance to get avintage performanceboat , built by a power boating legend, that needs some restorationwork. Some say there are as few as 30 of these made, I am not sure but it is not a boat you see everyday at the lake.
