1960 Buehler Turbocraft 16 ft. Ser. No. B0016. These were one of the first jet boats in the US. Google it for plenty of info. I am selling this because sadly I have lost interest and my loss will be your gain. I gutted the hull and removed the stringers and floor and ground (scuffed) the entire hull on the inside. I laid down 24/10 oz cloth with Wests epoxy on the entire inside of the hull to stiffen up the 55 year old fiberglass. I then used Corecell to build my stringer system, cross braces, engine mounts and lifting ring mounts and everything else. Over that went more 24/10 cloth. I used marine plywood for the floor sections that was fully coated with epoxy then bonded to the stringer system w/ THIXO 2 part epoxy. I then separated the deck from hull and strengthened it using the same methods. I also imbedded plastic electrical conduit on the inside of the gunwale to pull wiring through. I then reattached the 2 halves with THIXO and then on the inside w/ cloth strips.
I have had all the chrome redone by Super Fine Shine in Chillicothe, OH http://superfineshine.com/ at a cost of $2000. I had the jet drive rebuilt using SS impellers, updated to double roller thrust bearings and powder coated the intake case and painted the remainder matching gray. That cost me $1000. I have many, many extra parts because I bought 3 other various Buehlers and stripped them. I have 2 or 3 jet drives and gate assemblies, steering assemblies, instrument clusters and god knows what else. I blended parts from 3 different gate assemblies along with a little machining to move the steering cable location 3 higher thru the transom. From all the pictures I have seen of other Buehlers that should bring the rubber cable boots out of the water when at rest.
I have a 1995 Ford 351W out of a Wellcraft with very low hrs on this engine the boat was immaculate and had very little use. I have a Hardin aluminum rear engine mounting plate also. Currently the engine is sitting in the boat along with a spare jet drive and gate to allow laser alignment when building the rear engine mount adapters. I also have a flat head 6 cyl Model M109 that I could substitute for the 351W and reduce the price if that appeals to you. I will reduce the Reserve Price $2000 if you do not want the 351W and only want the flat head. I am including a good trailer w/ the boat.
I have the interior side panels for interior reconstruction. You have to build 2 bench seats I have the fiberglass seat base. Front and rear seats, new interior panels and an engine cover and that is the complete upholstery for the boat. Simple and not a lot of pieces. Everything I have goes with the package. If someone wants to try and low ball me then I start deducting pieces. Im reasonable, this isnt my first boat I have done and have tried to do this one as best I could. You have one hell of a good base and head start. If you have any questions please contact me.
