Just in time foryour Spring Project is the 1962 Broward Marine 63ft Yacht "The Barefoot Contessa" Flushdeck Motoryacht featuring twin Detroit Diesels. This yachtsold for around 180k plus in the late 1990's. It was purchased by my uncle (a rather famous author and explorer) with the intent of restoration and using in the Bahamas for leisure. He will be 90 next week and we are abandoning the planned restoration which has started but is in various stages of incompletion. He simply cannot deal with it any longer. The biggest issues concerning the restoration are replacing rotten wood in various areas throughout the Yacht. The wooden hull was completely FIBERGLASSED over at a CONSIDERABLE expense in the 90's and does not leak at all. The motors have been pickled and turn over and are in good condition. The rearsaloon cover was recently removed and will need to be replaced etc etc. This Yacht would be a SUPER SUPER live in home for someone wanting to live on the water in luxury or could be totally restored (at expense) to running condition. If you are handy at carpentry etc this literally could be the best purchase of your life at the best deal of your life....the Yacht is being sold at about 5% of its actual restored value. I am selling the Yacht in AS IS condition and in NON RUNNING OPERABLE condition. There is a clear Florida Title for the Yacht. The terms of the purchase are an immediate 50% payment within 24 hours of purchase and the remaining balance within 72 hours. If you cannot abide by these terms...please do not bid. The yacht will need to be moved from its current location within 45 days after purchase. This Yacht can be brought back to her original splendor and can be a True Showpiece if you are willing to put in the time and expense. It is being sold at a FRACTION of its value due to the condition it is in and the understanding that it will require large expense to restore. Please do not ask for addition pictures...these are the picturesI have and I am quite busy at the moment and not able to take any more. The last picture in the listing is what the Contessa will look like if bought back to her original Splendour! If you have any questions feel free to call Bob at phone. Thank you.
