Some of the most beautiful boats ever built

were the mahogany runabouts of the 1930's and 40's. But they were a

maintenance nightmare with leaking plank bottoms and pealing varnish.

The new runabouts from Mahogany heartthrobs have solved all those

problems. The hulls are seamless epoxy/glass composites with 3/16"

mahogany plank laid into the epoxy surface. No varnish is used on these

boats- the final finish is clear epoxy and automotive clear coat.Boat length is 15'11" on a new trailer with folding tongue which will fit into most suburban garages.The new models are powered with

Mercurys 3.0 liter TKS engine with Alpha I stern drive which provides

performance approaching 50 mph. Each boat is hand built by one man working

alone in a shop in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Each boat is planked with mahogany salvaged

from the last remaining stock of Higgins Boat Building shop that was laid up to

plank PT boats during WWII. A bit of history finally going to sea.
