Birchwood Yachts are built in England. Her construction is at the level of highest yacht standards. The boat was build for the famous piano player comedian Victor Borge. In 1998, the twin inboard diesels were removed and replaced with twoNEW CATERPILLAR FRESH WATER COOLED 800 HP MOTORS. Mr. Borge, wanted a higher turn of speed and the new engines produced a top speed more than 10 knots higher than the previous engines.. This vessel can cruise at 15 knots easily and has a top speed of over 27 knots.After Mr. Borge passed away, in Decemberr of 2000, the boat remained berthed in his marina until until 2007 and was rarely used by the estate. Subsequently the vessel was transferred to Minneford Marina on City Island where it was kept covered on land storage until the end of winter 2014. During 2014 the vessel was upgraded with a wide variety of upgrades whose cost amounted to $90,000+.
