I bought this boat really to use the trailer, but I was able to put some time and money into it to get it running.I've documented my journey fixing random things on the boat on Youtube. You can find it by searching Baretta Phazer ProjectI bought this boat really to use the trailer, but I was able to put some time and money into it to get it running.I really think this is a great deal on a boat. The real value is probably in the trailer, engine and outdrive. I think the lower unit of the outdrive was new or rebuilt. I installed it because it came with the boat. The trailer has nice new tires, and is in great shape. The floor needs to be replaced, and the stringers will need to be looked at. I don't know about stringers, so I don't know what they need. I'll post a video of it tomorrow.I'm starting the price here because it does need a little work, I took it out on the water late fall and was able to see that the boat floats and the engine runs. I puttered around the wakeless zone for a bit before I took it to open water. Regretfully, I hadn't noticed that the freeze plugs hadn't been reinstalled after getting the boat ready for summer, so I shut it down before the engine got hot.I took the boat home and winterized it, and haven't touched it since. When I got it, I was told the boat was winterized, but hadn't ran in many years. The outdrive was removed, and it came with a rebuilt outdrive.I was able to get the engine running, and installed the outdrive on the boat. It looks like this thing is ready to go mechanically. It will need some work on the floor and upholstery. The floor and stringers will need to be repaired. It's got the Chevy 350 engine in it with Volvo components and a Volvo Penta 285 outdrive. I've replaced the spark plugs, fuel filter/water separator, shift cable, and battery. The trailer also comes with new tires and a couple of spares. All in all, this is a great deal. There is a little uncertainty because I haven't ran it much on the water, but I think this thing will really be a good boat. Pick it up now before I do more work on it.If I get it on the lake and start doing other repairs, I'll begin to increase my asking price.
