You are bidding on a boat, motor and trailer combination which represents the ultimate trifecta of 1950's style, power, and jaw-dropping good looks. All 100% American made, and presented in concours condition. The Boat: Atlanta Boat Works shipped AristoCraft Typhoon SN 3586 to C&R Sales in May of 1953. The original owner, a gentleman from upstate New York, operated the boat until late 1962, when he subsequently placed the boat in indoor storage where it remained until 2014. Upon purchase from the original owner, the boat (in amazing condition) underwent a multi-coat re-varnish.In 2015, I contacted Atlanta Boat Works (a third generation family business in continuous operation since 1948) seeking information and documentation on the boat, To my delight, the son and grandson of the company's founder invited me to return the boat to the factory for personal inspection and documentation. (the owners are master wooden boat builders and still produce Aristocraft boats on a bespoke basis). They spent over a week inspecting every inch of the boat, replacing any non-original hardware, fasteners and rigging with original NOS parts. They refinished the steering wheel, restored the steering helm and pulleys, and installed original steering cables. Moisture tests confirmed that all wood was original and in outstanding condition. Upon completion, they presented me with a Certificate of Authenticity. The boat is classified as a preserved unrestored classic in accordance with Antique and Classic Boat Society guidelines. The Motor: The legendary Kiekhaefer Mercury Model Mark 20H SN 790201 is a numbers matching stock factory racing engine. This motor is the real deal. Professionally refreshed with new bearings and impeller, the motor has outstanding compression and is complete with factory 1 1/2 gallon pressure fuel tank and spare KAMIC brass prop. The trailer: The classic Tee Nee trailer underwent a complete nut and bolt restoration. Disassembled, soda-blasted and powder coated, not repainted. The trailer features dual coil springs, signature tear drop fenders, and rides on BFG Silvertown whitewall tires mounted on original wheels with factory baby moon hubcaps and trim rings. This is a rare opportunity to own an iconic mahogany sport boat, rigged from the factory with a legendary factory race engine, on a classic trailer, all for less than a new jet ski.If you are remotely interested in owning this classic boat, motor and trailer, don't delay, you may never see such a combination in this condition. Check out my 100% feedback rating, bid with confidence, and get ready for some serious fun this summer. The package is sold as-is with no warranty. The only guarantee is the grin on your face when behind the wheel, and the admiring thumbs-up from admiring observers everywhere you take the boat. Local pick-up preferred, but enclosed delivery at a reasonable rate is negotiable separately.Package is for sale locally and auction may end early.
