FOR SALE
1955 Aristo Craft Torpedo (14 foot)
This is an original boat built on May 1955. Not a reproduction.
The boat has a current New Jersey title and registration. All wood is original to the boat, does have a few small marks nothing major. Has the original covering on the seats. Has the original steering wheel and cable steering. Boat was stripped down and re-varnished. Has new windshield. The battery is mounted in an original wooden (batri box), the fuel tank is a steel Mercury fuel tank. Both are mounted behind the backseat. The only modern piece is a battery shut off switch mounted next to the battery . These boats are timeless in their style. The Aristo craft boats are still being made by the grandson of the owner of the original company. It is very light and easy to load and unload, trailers very nicely.
The trailer is a 1961 built well tilt trailer, (no title for trailer) it was in very nice condition with no rust. It has been sanded and repainted, it has new tires, lights and wiring. The trailer is designed to tilt up while still connected to your vehicle for beach unloading if needed. (see brochure picture) I made and installed trailer boat guides that are bolted on and can be remover. (makes loading easy)
The motor is a 1957 mercury Mark 55E outboard, I bought it from Michigan, it was in a guys collection of nice motors. The powerhead was in nice condition with good compression. Everything else on the motor was going through or rebuilt or replaced. The carburetors were rebuilt, New points, plugs, condenser, timing belt, water pump, and seals. The motor was stripped down and repainted, it has new decals. It has a brass three bladed prop. All the work on the boat motor and trailer is approximately six years old. Boat is ready for the water right now. The only thing not working on the motor that I know of is the electric choke button on the controls. Manual choke on engine cowling works. I did this boat thinking I would be keeping it and I hate to see this boat go, I am downsizing and looking to make more room for other projects.
I would consider selling the boat and trailer without the motor, controls and tank if interested. (I can use the motor on my other boat)
I have it for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this ad.
I only sell to the lower 48 US.
If you have any questions please ask.
