Professionally restored 21' Action Marine originally built in 1984. Action Marine at the time made only 8 of these boats to the best of my knowledge. Two were made in a joint venture between Pacemaker and Checkmate back in the late 70's. Financial issue's/deals/partnerships/designs etc. stopped themanufacture. About 6 years later one of the builders who worked on the original boat bought the molds and tried to go it alone. He made 6 I believe before his business closed it's doors. Where the molds are now is any ones guess. Again to the best of my knowledge this is 1 of only 2 remaining.Rare Race boat in like new condition!
What they did create was a21'7" LOA 7'4" beam 1050 lb. outboard V hull race boat capable of documented speeds of over 60mph with only a 150hp motor.Undocumented speeds of near or beyond80mph with the max recommended 250 hp.
In 2014 the hull was stripped down and new stringers, bulkheads, decks and transom using Penske Board, (Way stronger and wont ever rot like Marine Ply),were professionally installed.A 22 gallon fuel cell, battery and wiring were all professionally installed in the summer of 2014 as well.In 2014 the boatwas and isrigged for a Yamaha Outboardwith all new steering, controls and wiringminus the motor. Find a good used Yamaha 115hp, (likely a 45mph boat with 115),or more and you'll have an outstanding boat/motor/trailer that will absolutely turn heads and start conversations.
Recessed cleats and recessedNewNavigation lights finished this phase of the restoration. The boat still has the original bucket and bench seats are in good condition. Interior deck is painted white non skid with carpet on interior freeboard, The Exterior of the boat only needs to be waxed and buffed something I'm planning on getting to in the next couple of days.A complete restoration would have the exterior re-painted. I do not plan to do that at this point.
Boat comes with a 1996 Highlander Trailer with new Axle, Leaf Springs, Bearings, Wheels, Tires, Tongue and Tongue Jack.
When I purchased the boat it had a Yamaha 250 OX6 for power. In my opinion the boat was overpowered with the 250hp, (at least the way I had it set up with no set back or jack plate). I decided to keep the motor andwill putit on my 22 Velocity next season to racein the Class 7 of the OPA circuit. Great racing for 20'-22' outboard V hull boats with max of 250HP outboard. This 21 Action marine would make a great Race Boat Platform.
****Original Manufacturer information supports a speed of over 60mph with a single 150HP outboard. I would not want to go bigger than a 200HP maybe 225 unless you intended to set the boat up aggressively with all the supporting setback, jack plate, prop etc. With a 200HP this boat should do 70mph...plenty fast for me****.
Take a look at the pictures and please ask questions. Thanks for looking at my auction! Good Luck, your going to love this boat!
