1978 25' Blackfin Boat with Twin Diesels Volvo Penta 200's
Blackfin 25' twin screw Deisel Volvo Penta 200. Classic and totally unique, one of a kind and looking for new owner. This is a "Barn Find"!!
OK, heres the deal: This boat is $5K and a month of sweat equity away from being a $50-60K classic again. Calling all enthusiasts looking for a steal! She's been out of the water for three seasons. She will need work all around. Probable some mechanical and plenty of shine. I bought this boat in 2008 when all the kids were young. I operated her for all those great seasons in Vineyard Sound going back and forth from Falmouth to Martha's Vineyard. the hours are low because we would do the run then throw anchor.... All my kids are grown and I do not have the time or energy to work on this boat each season to get her ready. She's been wrapped up on jack stands at my house for three seasons. I fired up the starboard engine this past summer and know that the port engine needs a new starter. I'm literally considering donating her to charity unless someone comes along with a reasonable offer and a scheduled trailer pickup. Many of us boaters know when you run out of steam and time to care for a boat, it's worth it to get it off your property. That time is now for me and I hope to find this beauty a new home asap before the snow rolls in; that's where I am right now. I want to get something for her beautiful hull and these Volvo Penta 200's but I'm willing to offer a charitable discount for the right buyer who is willing to take as is and have her picked up asap. First come first serve. You will be pleasantly surprised by how low I'll go to close the chapter. ...... I'm posting this today 10/24 and will now put on Craigslist, classifieds board, and reach out to my contacts. This boat needs a hydralic trailer transport. I've always used a third party transport each year to put in and take out.
The pics on jack stands and interior are taken today. The other pics are from the boat being used. this hull will survey great. Below the waterline needs a good grind and recoat, above waterline was redone about 6 years ago.
Looking for a blackfin enthusiast to breathe some fresh life inter this beauty. She's been a great vessel for our family since 2008 but has been out of the water for the past three seasons due to kids in college etc. The port engine is an 2004, the starboard engine is a 1996 which was totally rebuilt in 2017 (to the tune of $20K) and also runs well.
Currently the boat is on jack stands and shrink wrapped at my home in Duxbury, MA.
This boat is a very capable vessel which has been used primary in Vineyard Sound for please ferrying between Falmouth and Martha's Vineyard. We have use the boat for pleasure so there are relatively low hours since we've owned. The heavy belly of the twins Deisels provide nice smooth through the 3 and 4 footers common in the Sound.
This boat needs some polish and love. She is a true classic that turns heads everywhere she goes.
Best Offer, as is and with a scheduled pickup. Come and get her before I donate to charity. For the right boater this is an incredible opportunity.
