This boat is simply elegant, fast and fun. It has been well kept by both prior owners. I purchased this beauty in October 2020 from the second owner, in New Jersey, who used it sparingly (seasonally) and reportedly kept it in enclosed storage. The first owner used it on a lake in New York and appears to have kept good records of maintenance and repair. The previous owner told me after the sale that this boat will turn heads, more so than the sea ray bow rider he is now using. He was right. Chris Craft builds a solid boat. Their electronics, hardware, glass, are top of the line. There is even a built-in extendable Ski pole. The 350 MPI Horizon Mercruiser is freshwater cooled (Heat exchanger) runs strong and is relatively quiet, unless you want to engage the side pipes! The Bravo 3 dual prop outdrive is responsive. The 58 gallon fuel tank allows you to be out all day. Capacity seating is for 5 in the cockpit and 2 in the forward rumble seat, and that is a comfortable number for this boat. The rumble seat opens via a switch on the dash and there is also a key fob. There is a manual stabil-bar to support the hatch when it is closed. The vinyl seats are in excellent shape, again a testament to the quality of the Chris Craft product.
Following my purchase, I had a mechanic go over the entire boat and engine repairing or replacing mechanicals and equipment, as necessary, and addressing any previous owner modifications to put the vessel back to its original set-up, with a few exceptions. The boat now has two batteries, placed in balanced locations in the engine compartment. A Garmin Echomap Plus 44cv GPS/Sonar has been added. . The speed/depth sounder location is located correctly to minimize the effect of turbulence from the engine cooling water intake. An exterior engine flush port was added to the transom, for convenience.
The annual service was performed on November 14, 2022, and indicated 324.9 hours on the engine. As of May 20, 2023 the remote meter read 330.8hours.
This boat has been kept in a marina storage rack since my purchase. The seawater cooling system is flushed out and the exterior of the boat is rinsed down by the staff after every use. This plus the fresh-water cooling system adds to the longevity of the engine. The semi-annual detailing was completed on June 15.
This is a boat that I planned to keep for a long time and all work performed on this vessel was done with this in mind. I am selling this boat because a I have moved to an area where it is a long way to either coast (and I am getting too old to be loading and unloading at a lake or river boat ramp) making it inconvenient to go use the boat at a moments notice. The boat is still in the storage rack at the marina.
