I bought this boat yesterday (June 23rd) only to find out my wife is too afraid to own it - she thinks it's just too big. So, I'm forced to sell it. Usually I would have consulted with her first, but when this local ad popped up, I just couldn't resist it. I copied the ad posted by the seller, so you could get a feeling for the quality rebuild this boat went through. A few years ago, the seller bought this boat from a Mercury mechanic, after the mechanic had rebuilt it. Here are the words in the ad, as written by the Mercury mechanic:I built this boat to keep and invested approximately 100 hours of labor in it. Things changed, and it is now for sale, so here goes.
Pontoon was taken completely apart and tubes/railings were acid washed. I added a third pontoon, making this a tri-toon. This is a much better technology than just two pontoons. It gives the boat more stability and makes it faster and able to carry more weight capacity. I then completely re-decked the boat with marine plywood purchased through PontoonStuff.com. If I remember, it's 20 year guaranteed. All new decking screws were used as well. I put 30 oz. deluxe marine carpet on the new decking. I used the best marine carpet on the market that I am aware of. Railings werere-installedusing fence risers under the railings to allow better drainage form the deck. New stainless bolts and nuts were also used. These are utilized in most new model pontoons. All of the interior pieces are new and top quality. The console is all plastic and "no rot". The fishing seat bases are under the carpet and are not visible. So, if you want to remove the fishing chairs, the bases are notvisible. Pontoon has a new Sunbrella material four bowBiminitop and rigid square tube frame. It is top quality as well.Mechanics: All the wiring/electrical was completely replaced to include new new accessory panel on console with modern breakers. All new wiring harness for accessories/engine. New navigation lights, new docking lights and new courtesy lights. Pontoon is equipped with three new Interstate batteries, two for trolling and one for cranking /accessories. I installed a three bank Pro Tournament battery charger with battery maintenance mode. Just plug it in and forget it. New Quicksilverbinnaclemount control box and cables.Quicksilvertack and fuel guage also. I installed Sea Star hydraulic steering system and new steering wheel as well. Pontoon is wired and the plug is installed upfrontfor 24 volt trolling motor.
Engine: 1992 mercury V6 2.0LiterOutboard. Engine was completely reconditioned to include:
6 Pistons and Rings
Crank Bearings
Rod to Crank Bearings
Wrist Pin Bearings
Powerhead Gasket Set
Carbs were vatted and new kits installed
Bleed and Fuel Lines
Lower Unit Pressure checked
Gear Lube Changed
Water Pump Impeller Kit
This engine is in excellent condition. Every clamp, tie wrap, etc. back in place. Engine was built by me, a trained tech, and no corners were cut. I would charge about $3500.00 for this service. This engine is fresh water - no corrosion and was not blown or damaged - I just wanted a fresh engine with zero hours. I pulled the oil injection system off, so oil and gas must be mixed at 50:1 ratio. Oil injection problems are one of the leading causes of engine failure. So don't ask, - I won'tre-installit! Quicksilver 17 pitchVengeanceProp also installed. Included in the sale is a newer (2009) tandem axle Tennessee trailer. So there you have it. The gentleman who bought the boat from the mechanic saved the ad andre-postedit when he sold the boat. He hasn't used the boat but a few times since he bought it and that's why he sold it. The only thing that I found still original was the small fence surrounding the boat. It has normal wear dings and scratches but the rest of the boat is in great shape as the ad above states. The previous owner did manage to break one $19.99 corner cap (front - shown in picture and can be purchased on pontoonstuff.com) The boat also comes with a live well and a FULL cover too! Remember to add the 2 cycle outboard motor oil into the gas whenever you fill the tank to lubricate the engine - since the oil injection system was pulled off, as mentioned above. Whoever gets this boat is going to be one lucky boater! Good luck!
