This vessel was purchased by us for use as a full-time liveaboard and to cruise to the Florida Keys. It is perfect for this purpose or to restore to it's original condition. The Matthews is a true classic yacht which receives a lot of attention on the water. My wife and I have lived on this vessel for most of 2015 and have loved it! We are selling because the one marina in our area that allowed liveaboards was closed in January. We have unfortunately moved back into our house.
This boat is in great shape for her age, but not perfect. If you want a NEW boat - add another $1,250,000 to the purchase price and buy one new from a dealer. ( New replacement cost is estimated on 2015 survey at 1.3 million ) She has made many trips from New England to Florida over her lifetime, and those days are probably over, but we cruise this boat often in local waters with little or no problems. It is not unusual for the Detroit 671 Engines to run 10,000 to 20,000 hours or more. These engines start immediately and run strong. We have never cruised her above 1500 RPM and she runs at 10-12 mph at this speed with very good fuel efficiency.
If you are looking for a boat to use as local cruiser in and around south Florida coastal waters, or as a great boat to live on, she is perfect. If you're looking to buy a million dollar vessel for $50,000 - - - you have probably never owned a big boat before and we much prefer you buy elsewhere.
We are not interested in Financing. Boat is Documented and has a clear title with no liens.

Questions
Glad to see an old friend still afloat. I worked at he Matthews boat plant in1973. I installed all the fresh water system on this boat, and the toilet system. I also Helped install the engines, struts. shafts, and propellers . I worked mostly on the 56 foot line than the 46 foot models ,but I remember this boat. Some of the 46 foot boats we installed 903 Cummins V8's, and two with Volvo Penta 6 cyl' diesels, but most were the Detroit 6-71's. A very good engine. I'm glad you took good care of her ,and treated her well. My Dad worked there ,after he returned home from WW 2 from 1946 until 1948,then he was a postal worker on a mail route. Happy new year to you ,and I hope you have a good buyer .It would be a shame to see her sitting on a cradle wither away .Take care...
How many hours on the engines?
Thanks.
