1985 MasterCraft Stars & Stripes Power Slot Ski Boat with accessories (SF Bay Area)
It's time to retire from skiing and barefooting for me, so I'm offering my single-owner, pampered, and meticulously maintained ski boat for sale.
If spending between $70,000 and $90,000 for a comparable new, bloated and heavy MasterCraft doesn't appeal to you, read on.
This original design MasterCraft accelerates faster, turns quicker, is easier to maintain, and is way more fun and economical to operate and insure.
Undoubtedly, this is the is the best preserved classic 1985 MasterCraft that you'll find. It has always been stored under cover on a custom made dolly located on a concrete pad, and never left in the water overnight. It has been transported on a trailer just a few times before it made its home on the dolly, and has never been damaged or beached. There are some slight wear marks on the bow where it settles into the dolly and a couple of nicks on it, but that's it. It has been regularly polished and waxed. The windshield is still clear and free of cracks and marks.
This model has no wooden stringers, so the hull is impervious to rot, extremely sound and shows little signs of wear. The bilge is the original smooth gelcoat and perfectly clean. The original teak deck has also been regularly maintained.
The boat has 1,179 total hours. The engine is the original PCM 351 Ford, but the heads were replaced with GT40 high-performance heads for extra horsepower (and what a difference it made!). Coupled with the 4-bladed Johnson prop, this boat has always out-turned, out-pulled and out-accelerated any of my friends' newer, heavier tournament ski boats.

The original interior shows the most signs of wear with the exception of the rear seat, that was stored since new and was not used. The passenger bench is almost as good. The back of the driver's seat, bolsters and engine cover show the most age, but are all usable. The carpet is usable, but worn.
Since it was used in brackish water, some of the aluminum parts have acne from corrosion, but function perfectly well. This is most apparent on the pylon, steering column base, and throttle/shift lever cover. Rust is also apparent on galvanized and painted iron or steel parts, as expected, whether in fresh water or not.
The "MasterCraft" logotype and some stars have been removed and replace with some custom artwork, but can easily be buffed off, if desired, without damaging the hull.
The galvanized dolly is included in the sale, but there is no trailer included.
Acquire this great boat for about the price of the sales tax on a new one.
Locatedat Bel Marin Keys, aprivate lagoon located in Novato, CA, the boat is being sold, as is, where is.
Questions
I’m interested in your boat. But have some questions. The boat sounds and looks great. However I still have some questions. The base color, is it white or grey? Any vibration in the boat at both low and high speed? Any photos of the custom artwork mentioned? Photos of the worn upolstery bolsters, and driver seat wear/sun damage? Do you happen to have a access to acquiring a trailer?
