It has come time to sell my baby. Here is a 1989 Prostar 190 with 803 hours. I have owned this boat for 11 years (longer than both mymarriages) and as they say, I really do hate to sell it. But I've only put 30 hours on it the last 3 years and can't justify the garage space anymore. Yes, it's been garaged the whole time I've owned it and it has certainly never seen salt water.
The good: Only 803 hours - that's only 30 hours per year! Engine in great shape, doesn't use oil, burn oil, or smoke. Runs like a top. I am meticulous about maintenance and winterize every year. I have detailed maintenance history and owners information books that go with it. It was polished a couple years back and the finish is still a bit shiny. All windshield trim and vents were POWDERCOATED 2 years back (HUGE PITA) and the God awful "Mauve" pink was painted over with a two part epoxy truck bed liner. So was the swim platform (no more teak oiling every year). The swim platform has a quick release system so you can keep it in a standard sized garage. Carb rebuilt last summer. Includes lots of extras like BAREFOOT BOOM ($400), NEW STEREO (all speakers work). Fish (depth and water temp) finder. Includes bimini top, lines, anchor, life vests, skis, etc. Your buying a turn key operation here. All trailer lights work and the hubs have bearing buddies. The bad: Left speedo doesn't work and the right is not dependable. Gasgauge doesn't work (I think the float sunk). Carpet looks tired, plywood over the transmission could be replaced (easy fix. The rest of the floor is FIBERGLASS and never needs to be replaced). Switches and breaker panel are faded. There are holes where it had a TWA wakeboard tower. If you can find a TWA it will bolt right up, no drilling! Hey, that's a plus. The seats are OK with the exception of the rear bench, which needs to be recovered. The batman logo is just a sticker and can be easily removed. So there you have it. Nice dependable ski boat that will get you on the water this summer. Or you can buy a new one for $68,000. Your call.Good luck bidding!
