I am looking to sell the boat quickly to help pay for another semester of college for my daughter and will be happy to show proof of that statement to any buyer.
I did not plan to sell the boat but life changes and I have to do what has to be done. My loss can be your gain! I'm also selling off some of my favorite
vintage motorcycles, so please reference my classifieds board ID from time to time in the upcoming future!
Please read these details carefully! The boat includes a bill of sale, reassigned NVDC Certificate of Documentation, information sheet with history (as known) and all parts, equipment and documentation.
The boat resides in the fresh waters of the Potomac in Washington DC, but I can deliver the boat almost anywhere within the Chesapeake and its tributaries,
for $2 a mile (plus gas). The boat can remain at the marina but the new owner will be responsible for the $450 a month slip rental.
Slip rentals are available elsewhere for as low as $2000 a "year" and I will be happy to point you in the direction of some good ones.
I also include hands on instructions regarding the boat details, maintenance and starting procedures and then answer any questions you may have.
Ok, now for the down side. This boat is not perfect and needs some work. The boat is almost 40 years old and has minor imperfections through-out. The hull and structure of the boat are in great shape and the boat is water tight. No problems there.
The right engine starts and runs great, but the left engine had a head gasket leak and I'm in the middle of repairs of that engine (see pics). The engine got water in it as a result and had to be drained
and flushed out. I'm in the process of working on that engine and I cannot gurantee I will have the work done by the close of the auction. Before starting on this work and in anticipation of the worst, I bought two rebuilt
heads for the motor and although the original head was fine, I plan to replace the right head when I button up the engine. If I do not complete this work, I will subtract $500 from the purchase price
price of the boat. Either way, the boat will include the rebuilt heads.
I'm also in the middle of wood replacement on the boat. I was looking to replace the ceiling with rot proof PVC beadboard ceiling panels (lookup "boat, beadboard, ceiling" for an idea of how it looks). And I have a friend who was going to recover the inside cushions. But at this point, the ceiling work will not be done, although I would be happy to cover the cushions for you with the material of your choice if you pay for or buy the material yourself. Also, the last main issue with the boat is the soft deck floor of the rear cockpit. Simply put, it needs replaced. I will be happy to do the work for free or can put $500 towards the materials, if you choose to do the work yourself. I was looking for a rot proof synthetic wood, but would simply replace the decking with marine plywood painted with epoxy paint if done for free. All of this items can be finalized after the sale of the boat.
I have done my best to describe the condition of the boat, but have not highlighted every minor imperfection. I'm also sure there are probably issues I have not yet discovered. The boat is being sold "as is", "where is", and does not have a warranty or any gurantees of any kind. Sorry no refunds! The buyer is required to make a $500 non-refundable deposit at the end of this auction.
