Reminder: You are bidding on this vessel, but the best offer may not be accepted until 22 September 2014. This is a "no reserve" auction, and, if I have a "local offer" that is better, I will try to update this ad to reflect. Thus far, the highest local offer has been $10,000.00, and I have an classifieds board bid/offer of $13,000; therefore, the bidding for this auction will start at $13,000.00 You may contact me for more information on the vessel or view it in person at Ditto Landing in Huntsville, Alabama, Dock F and Slip F-6. It is the Red Nek from Tupalo, MS - the vessel was bought from two nurses in the Tupalo - Corinth MS area and the name was never changed. It just seemed "fitting" for myself and my family.I have had several requests for more pictures and I have emailed them out to those interested as best as I could keep up with all the questions. I have uploaded the maximum of pictures that classifieds board will allow per listing, so enjoy the new(er) pics! Thanks for all the questions and interest. I have offered the vessel as a BIN tothree folks and with thislisting, I have lowered the reserve to that number. I have modified the "Starting Bid" to $13K based upon a bid that I received this morning during atelecom. This vessel will be re-listed through September 21st,unless the reserve is met.
The vessel is described above and herein. It is a great vessel, Aluminum Hull, that is very tight and light - it will literally float in a mud hole (two feet of water) and the bilge pumps never run because aluminum is notpourous like fiberglass. Once you lose the "gel coat" on fiberglass, then you will have water pour into yourvessel like flour through a flour sifter. The hull of this vessel is made from .25" aircraft grade aluminum; I am told that you could fire a .38 special at the hull of this vessel and it would just bounce off and not penetrate the hull. The Engines are 360 CID and 250 HP a piece, so you have 500 HP pushing this vessel through the wateractually around 1500 RPMs, it will start to get on top of the water and "plane"; the vessel will run approximately 35 MPH and you could sky behind it. It is a large and swift vessel. It is just loaded with Teak Wood, throughout the vessel. It has two bedrooms. A Master with a V-Berth that is as big as a King Size Bed, and you have the Aft Cabin with two single Beds that has a Toilet and sink in a room between the beds; also, this area can be closed by a door and a hatch that will let down for complete privacy. In the Salon area, is a Queen size Sofa that will fold out into a bed. Therefore, you could sleep 6 folkscomfortable on this vessel. It has a full kitchen or galley, a refrigerator, and a lot of storage space. There is also another Bathroom off the V-Berth, with Head and Sink, and a Stand-Up Shower Stall. Yes, you read right, a Stand Up Shower Stall - which is unheard of inthis size vessel. In the Salon area, you also have a Captain's Chair to operate the Vessel in inclement weather, but when nice, you have another set of controls on the Flying Bridge. Another good selling point of the vessel is that you can easily walk completely around the vessel, which is handy when you "lock through" a TVA Dam. The Bow of the boat features a very nice seating area, with cushions, for about 8 folks. It is a very nice vessel to entertain on, whether you are out on the river for the day or just having some guests at the dock. The Engines have approximately 900 hours on them and they are cranked regularly. The vessel has both shore power and a 6.5Kw Onan Generator; however, the Generator needs new seals andrequires re-work or replacement. This is the only item that has not been resolved for the vessel to be 100%. The Hull was painted with the toxic paint 5 years ago; it was taken out of the water and inspected and painted. The Hull was clean as a "baby bottom" at this time, except for the barnacles that had accumulated from lack of the paint. This vessel is not very costly to run, especially with the aluminum hull as it gets approximately 1 river mile per gallon of gas. If you go down stream it is better, but the average is 1 mile per gallon; you could do better if you keep the RPMs low and just "coast around". Again, the vessel is for sale locally. It will sell to somebody on 22 September 2014. You may call me at either phone or phone for more information. I do not answer non 256 numbers because I am constantly being assaulted by tele-marketers, so please leave adetailed message and I will call you back as soon as I can. If Marinette manufactured this vessel with the same materials as they did in 1978, this vessel would probably retail for around $250K!!! You can buy this vessel for a fraction of that cost and still have plenty of funds to update her. No onemanufactures an Aluminum Hull Vessel anymore, and for lasting a long time and cost of maintenance, you cannot beat this vessel. Good luck! Now Bid!!!Please Note: This is the last "re-list" for this auction and there is "NO RESERVE". Please note that payment in full isexpected seven days after auction close. Also, I have had a question of "when to take title"? Make your best offer by September 21st, then you will have 7 days to pay in full, or by September 28th you will have paid the auction price or whoever the best Offeror is, and, I have agreed to pay an additional boat slipe rental for approximately 30 days till you can take Title, Make an offer, with your bid. Best of luck and thanks for your interest!!! Lonnie JoeI have had several requests for more pictures and I have emailed them out to those interested as best as I could keep up with all the questions.
