We've upgraded, and it's time to sell our Malibu Skier that we've owned
for almost 20 years. Just over 1000 hours on the hull and transmission,
and just over 300 hours on a rebuilt (long block replaced) Mercruiser
5.7 Competition Ski engine. The rebuild was performed by Wakeens Boat Center in
about 2007. At the time of the rebuild I also installed electronic
ignition and a new distributor. Boat was tuned up probably two years
ago-new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Water pump impeller was changed
out a couple of years ago-it's probably due for a new one, just for
safety's sake. I've got one that I'll throw in on the deal-I usually
change them out every 3-4 years just to keep from having to get towed in
when it fails (and they always fail over time, usually when you're
starting the engine). I've taken very, very good care of this boat-it's
always been stored inside (under a trailering cover in a heated storage
area in the winter), never stored in the water for more than a week,
waxed at least once a year, and the teak gets re-oiled on a yearly
basis. I've had the drivers seat cushion recovered, and replaced the
bases on the front and rear passenger seats. The gelcoat is in great
condition other than a couple of dings on the bow and one on the
starboard side below the waterline (see pictures). Also, one of the
tracking fins is curled over a little from the boat coming off it's
mooring and being pushed up against a concrete boat launch overnight,
but it does not affect the tracking, steering, or turning of the boat
whatsoever. I've added courtesy lights in the cabin. The boat has a
brand new depthfinder (so new that the transducer isn't even permanently
mounted yet). The stereo is a Sony that's about 3 or 4 years old, an
auxiliary input (wired for a phone-the wiring is already there), an
iPod/iPhone connector, and a remote control for the stereo at the helm. 4
speakers in the cabin. Upholstery is in very good condition for the age
of the boat. Carpet is in average condition. The boat runs and drives
like new. The trailer is a single axle with no surge brakes. Chrome
wheels and raised white letter tires with plenty of tread. Trailer bunks
are probably due for new carpet, but overall they're OK. Trailer has
bearing buddies and is serviced annually. I replaced both sets of leaf
springs on the trailer about 10 years ago. All lights on the trailer
have been replaced in the last 5 years. Boat comes with anchor, bumpers,
and some extra life jackets that we've accumulated over the years. I
also have a spare 3 blade prop and a spare prop shaft-the shaft may be
SLIGHTLY out of true-I took it off after a prop strike about 13 years
ago and went with a new one, but I've kept this one around just in case.
If I recall correctly, it's about 1/4" out of true, but can probably be
straightened. This boat is a joy to ski behind-I've run into 28' off behind it, and in
my opinion it's got nearly as good a ski wake as anything available
today, and it's not $70K. The only reason we're getting rid of it is
that we needed more space, so we bought a Sunsetter. Not as good of a
ski boat, but the kids are into wakeboarding, kneeboarding, and wake
surfing, so...Boat is available for viewing and test drives-I'd even be willing to
pull you for a set if you're willing to get into the water.... :-)Note: Pics of the boat are prior to me changing out the depth finder-the
box on top of the dash is gone, and the new one is mounted in with the
rest of the gauges. and the remote for the stereo system is different
now-it's not the single DIN remote.
Buyer will be responsible for all transportation costs. I can suggest delivery options if requested.
